Best time to do Jet Ski at CC?

Ashore time is 9:45am and first time slot is 10:00am. That doesn't seem like enough time to get off the ship and get there in time. Best time slot option? Is it better to go early as in one of the first ones to get there? Does it matter? We'll be there in October and DH said maybe afternoon will be warmer.

Yes, we like to do it when it's really warm out so that they spray in your face feels good instead of cold & we're barely awake. We are also careful to pay attention to lunch time so personally, we think 2 or 3pm is best. We've had some time to digest & maybe get some ice cream for dessert without rushing.
If you don't have some kind of string thing to secure your sunglasses on you, I'd get one soon. It's a pretty bouncy ride and you don't want to have to leave your sunglasses in the locker on a bright day.
