Best time of year

Hi everyone

We are looking to book our DFTW but our stuck on a date.

All along we have planned for May but have heard it would be really hot.

We have no specific month that would have any meaning for us, however we really want to avoid hurricane season but have it hot enough to swim and go to the water parks

When would you all say the best time of year for us would be? We would like a 2.30 ceremony at sea breeze point

Early May you would probably be okay. It tends to get super hot after that. I personally think the fall weather is the best, when hurricane season wraps up in October and November. Hope this helps!

We're getting married in a little under three weeks! We choose October because it is our favorite time of year to go to Disney. It's towards the end of Hurricane season. The weather is generally very nice. Most of all, there are just so many great things to do in Disney in October: Food & Wine Festival, Mickey's Not So Scary, Haunted Hayrides, ect.

As a FL resident, I know all about hot and hurricanes,

If you're looking for nice weather, try January- March. Maybe early April. OR, October- December. Most hurricanes stay at bay at this point in hurricane season but a rogue one could form.

Personally, I wouldn't do May-September as it's hot, rainy, crowded, and can be a magnet for Hurricane Season.

I'm in FL too and we go to Disney every year in March. It is the best weather and it rarely ever rains. March is perfect April is nice too but it warms up a bit toward the end.

I like late April / Early May because the weather is usually nice (although some years it has been really HOT) and the room rates are lower than March and early April.

We did our VR in early October and had beautiful weather for the entire trip - blue skies, not a drop of rain. Warm enough to swim but not "sweaty hot." It is still hurricane season so the chance for the fringes of a storm is there.

Floridian here too. I agree with many of the ladies that October-December is a great time. The weather usually is B-E-A-UTIFUL! Warm enough to swim but not unbareably hot. Lots going on. Not a high travel season (well Late November-December is but not as bad as summer/spring break).

I have a Jan wedding coming up and our most expensive room is $300/night. The cheapest is $85/night. That's amazing compared to what it usually is at that time.

That's a really good point—if no particular month has any significance to you, you might want to think about finding one that has good weather and is in a cheaper Disney "season" (Value, Regular). We moved our wedding date forward by two weeks (after the save-the-dates had gone out ) into Value Season from Peak Season in order to save ourselves and our guests hundreds of dollars on hotels.

We switched from Feb. 18, which was over President's Day Weekend (aka Holiday Season), to Feb. 4, which was in Value Season.

We're hoping to get married next December. The first time I ever went to WDW was during November, right when they were putting up Christmas decorations and it was beautiful!!! I loved the way the castle looked at night, and the Osbourne Family Lights at DHS was amazing!!! Not forgetting that we went a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving and it was wonderful, not too hot and the park was basically empty. We literally walked on everything it was great.

The only reason we're not getting married in early November is because (hopefully) this time next year the DH will be a teacher and our only two options that would work for us and his family (both of his sisters are already teachers) would be to either go at Thanksgiving break or once school lets out in December for Winter break. So we chose December, just a few days after my birthday and the day we went on our first date!

We chose early November because it won't be too hot...hopefully it won't get cold by then either. We also chose it because my fiance is in the military and will NOT be deployed at that time.

My groom is military too. We originally wanted November 6th of this year until we found out he'd be deployed. So we chose Jan 2012 since he should be home from deployment

We went in September and it was too hot! So we looked at April and November and finally decided on November as it is cheaper and we get both Halloween and Christmas parties as well as the Food & Wine Festival during our holiday - 28 Oct - 18 Nov, with the wedding on Nov 1.

If you really want May, it's not THAT hot. I got married May 23 and it was definitely hot, but not unbearable. I'm told it was warmer than usual the week I was there, so maybe you could shoot for early May? Otherwise my suggestion would be November, right after F&W but before Thanksgiving. It's really quiet and the weather is awesome.
