I was just curious what time everyone is having their ceremony or have had their ceremony??

Would also like some feedback, if you had an early ceremony did you feel rushed, having to get up early for hair/make up and pictures?

I am getting married at 10 am and just would like other peoples feedback on how good/bad that time is.

Thanks :)

We were married at 11am. We originally had the 9am slot scheduled but when we changed locations we decided we liked the later time.

It can kinda depend on the time of year you are getting married. IMO the earlier weddings are much better in the summer so you are more or less done before the hottest part of the day.

It can also depend on the location...if you are indoors the weather/heat isn't as much of a factor.

My DH isn't an early riser so he was very glad when we scheduled the later time.

I think 10am is a good time. You probably won't be too rushed in the morning.

Since we were married in Epcot, we had to take the 9 a.m. slot. We did have to wake up early, and I know my in-laws weren't happy about it (just another reason to do it! :rotfl: ) but it worked out well for us. First of all, we didn't have to sit around the whole day feeling nervous. Second, we were able to do a lunch reception, and save $$$. Finally, a number of our guests actually ended up traveling that evening - so they were also able to save $$$ on hotel costs and go back to work the next day!

Just to chime in....

We were originally having our ceremony in the morning but then we ended up pushing it back later and later lol. Now it's at 2, which is fine because I am not a morning person.

The other reason we ended up changing it was because each of the photographers we met with said the further from morning and noon the better for pictures...something with the sun?

How many hours do you need to plan for hair and makeup?

How many hours prior to the wedding can you do some of the before wedding shots?

:)
Thanks

We are scheduled for our wedding at 12! Not only are we saving money because it is going to be before 2 (Like 2500 bucks!!!), but I can wake up and start from that moment getting ready and not have to face the anticipation all day long!! My hair and make up person is booked and she is coming to do me, 2 bm, a flower girl and my mom and suggested coming at 0630. So I figure I'll be up around 5 or so and have time to get ready a little and relax!! Hope that helps!

when is your wedding?

I did 10 AM...I loved it because everything was over by like 3 and then we went to MK with everybody..so we had the rest of the day to have more fun!!! I was up at the butt crack of dawn though..4:30 AM.

Do you have someone coming to do hair/makeup? If so, ask her how long she will need. I used Anna Wacaser from MakeoverMajic and she told me it would only take about 30 minutes (this was for just me). I was very surprised (thought it would take longer), but she was exactly right!

We also had an hour to take pictures before the ceremony, and that was more than enough time. HTH!

6:30?! :scared1:

I've planned mine for noon as well, but I am not a morning person (ignore the time of this post - it doesn't count for morning - dogs pushed me out of bed, since I was up - why not DIS?) I'm not human before 8am...

I have to chime in for morning pcitures here - While I'm coming around with my engagement photos, I wouldn't recommend an 11:00am-12p timeslot for pics around the beach at Poly. The sun in our eyes was horrible. But it was also August.

My wedding is at 5pm, because I am not a morning person, that is why I'm DISing right now because my brain isn't coherent for work!

I'm going to be lounging and sleeping all day before my weekend:thumbsup2

but that's my personal preference, some people would get anxious over that much time

Our ceremony was at 2:30 pm... we loved it! Didn't have to get up too early or anything and we had time to all go to the resort and change if we wanted to and headed to an early dinner... seated around 5 pm!

I got married at 5:00pm. It's Florida and it typically rains every afternoon in the rainy season. I wish someone would've reminded me about this!! It was a beautiful (but humid) day up until 4:50 when the heavens opened and the rain came and washed away my outdoor wedding!

I would recommend an earlier wedding and wish someone would've told me!

We are at 2 pm. I wanted sunset, but it was booked. :sad2: 2 is probably better though, since we don't "lose a day". As in milling around all morning with nothing to do but wait. This way, I cant get up normal time, have breakfast, get my hair and makeup done at 11 and be ready without a lot of waiting around.

Originally Ana said like 800 830 and I'm so anal on time and not to mention we added my mom in the mix so then she suggested 630 since that way it would give us about 3 hours or so time to relax ... take pictures ... EAT! popcorn:: and all that good stuff.. I'm that person that is always early! At the same time not a morning person b/c I work nights!

Would you mind sharing what month your wedding was? I'm getting married at 5pm and one year exactly beofre my wedding, we went to Disney and it didn't rain at all at 5pm. Now I know we must have had a little luck that week so we made a safe choice and picked the WP beach so that we have the WP as a back-up instead of a ballroom location.

My wedding will be at 2:30pm. Anna will be there at 7am to do my mom, 2BM's, MOH, Grandma and my hair.

My weddign will be at 2:30pm at SBP. Ana will be at my room to do my hair and makeup at 10am. I don't have a BP so it's just me.

I really really wanted to do a 5pm ceremony for pics, but wasn't sure if the lighting would be good enough (dec wedding) , and now we can host dinner at V&A like we were hoping!

I am doing a 5pm wedding in December 09 because I wanted a candlelit ceremony at the WP. We are also having our reception at the CG (Napa Room) so we can see Wishes during the reception which saves us money as we won't have to pay for a DP!

This is a good thread! :yay: I was going to ask something like this myself. When do you guys think is the best time of day for a December wedding at SBP? Do you think it will be cold?

I had 5pm ceremony.

I wanted a more formal evening weding with a reception that ended after midnight. 5pm was perfect for pics our bridal party pics were at 2-3pm and then after the ceremony it was right before sunset, still bright but not intense...perfect for beach pics.

Plus I had all morning to get ready. Origanlly we were going to have 2:30 because we were going to have an DP but I did not want the wedding to end at 9pm (maybe a NY thing:confused3 ) anyway I made the dp the welcome party.
