We are tentatively palnning a May trip, and need advice from the experienced on which week to go (to avoid crowds). Any suggestions???

I am not an expert, but I would say before the 20th. There are several Florida schools that are out the last week in Florida.

We went 2005 May 9-13. The crowds were quite low, we had a great time!

I don't know, but we will be there from the 14th-26th. I have never been in May but I have heard it is a great time to go. I am hoping for lots of photo ops with the flowers at Epcot.

We've been in mid May and late May and we're going again this year in early or mid May due to lower crowds and hopefully better weather. When we went in mid May the weather was absolutely beautiful but last year we went over Memorial weekend and it rained our last 2 days there and it seems like I remember the Orlando area continuing to get a lot of rain after we left (too close to the June 1 hurricane season?).

I'm going to be there the same time! I'm looking forward to the hidden Mickeys in the flower show.

I've been the very first weekend in May, and last year we were there during the week right before Memorial weekend and both were fine. I don't remember any rain at all last year, but it was during the week, Wednesday and Thursday. We really enjoy seeing the Flower Show. This year we're going for Mother's Day weekend, so we're expecting crowds, but we wanted to treat mom to the Mother's Day Brunch, ( I do hope it will be offered, we're going, no matter).

All of the parks are going to be closed in May -- so to anyone who reads this thread, there is no point in going to Orlando in May. Not at all. Really. Trust me.

:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

(Park's closed -- Moose outside should have told you)

We're going the same time you are . Weather should be great and crowds low....most schools aren't out yet. Aside from a graduation weekend (5/6-7 @ MK) timing couldn't be better :cheer2: Looking forward to seeing the animal topiarys for the 1st time. :woohoo:

I was talking with someone else about this on another thread. We are scheduled to be in Magic Kingdom on Friday. (the day of the grad all nighter). Do you think it we should change our plans for that day? We are concerned about crowds and already realize that Wishes is not going on.

I agree completely! 10 minute waits jump to 90 minutes in one day! All because southern schools get out. Before the 20th is perfect! It's when we go (or equivalent to) every year!

We were there two years ago 1st week and half in May. Lines were fine weather was perfect... Ate at all the resturants we could (without ADR nor a long wait for any).

This year we are going May 7th - 19th... Still hoping it will be grand.

But SHHHH May is our little secret, let the cat out of the bag and it will just as crowded as June/July.... Gosh I love SCHOOL! it keeps the little kids away while the big kids can play :)

I have been every week in May for the last five years (except for 2004). It's all good. Yes, there are more students there in the later part of the May, but it's still not bad. Weather is always iffy it seems. First of May seemed a few degrees cooler.

I originally was planning our trip for the very first part of June of next year. Then I got thinking and there is a ton of stuff going on that first week or two at the parks. I am now considering the first part of May also. My kids will be in 4th and 1st grades so I don't have a problem taking them out of school for a week. I can't wait.

I will be in WDW for first ever trip May 8th-22nd at Saratoga Springs resort, 32 days and counting
