Best time in January

Hello everyone

I have a question....

When is the best time to go in January. I am considering Jan 9-16th or Jan. 15-23rd. The marathon is Jan. 7, 8 and 9th, and we don't want to be there then. What time would you choose?

We usually go in Jan. arriving the Tues. of MLK holiday. Are you thinking what is best in terms of low crowds?

The parks are much more crowded now the whole week of Martin Luther King holiday. It use to be just the weekend before through Tues. of that week but now many more people take the whole week off and are at Disney.

I did some asking around this past Jan. because there were just so many more people then we are use to. The CM's said they were surprised at how many people were there the whole week and as we waited in lines I casually mentioned to others that there were more people then I was use to and they admitted that they had teacher conferences and half days during the week so they just stayed out for the whole week.

We are usually there for 10 days at a time so the second full week after MLK week was much less crowded. We will plan in the future to start our vacation the full week after MLK.

As far as weather...its a toss up! One trip we had weather in the high 80's for most of the time another trip (this past year) it was chilly and I wore gloves to the parks several times!

Hi there

Thanks for the reply. We definitely want to go when the crowds will be low. The last time we were there was Jan. 2002, and we love the low crowds we saw then. But not sure if it is better to go that week or mid to late Jan. We love walking onto rides and not having long wait times...just as most of us do I guess
