Best time in January?

Well, we usually go at the tail end of Jan or early Feb, but this year we have to go In January BEFORE the 20th (Tuesday). The 19th is MLK day. So what would be the best time to go? The later the better, as we're a farming family from the NW and that's jsut what works best for us. But how busy is MLK weekend? Does the holiday crowd start well into the week before??

We usually do the very end of Jan/ first couple of days in Feb., too. This year we went MLK week. Arrived the Sat. two days before MLK day, stayed till the next Sat. a.m. It was definitely more crowded but it was certainly manageable. We did OK as long as we had a plan together to hit popular rides first and used FP wisely.

The best way to figure out how early MLK week guests might show up is to look at school schedules from all over, especially the East Coast.

Last year our schools had off the Friday before and the Monday of MLK day. This year we just have Monday off, meaning less people (from our County) would vacation the week prior.

When looking for the optimal time to plan my trip, if we have several choices,
I just randomly look up websites for school systems in several states and see if there is any kind of pattern to which days lots of districts have days off.

Or, just pick the time thhat works best for your family, and go with a well-planned itineary.

We too usually go end of Jan up to but not into the MLK week. Never had a problem with crowds and the weather is nice on most days. It was funny because we went for 2 weeks the trip before last and on our first week we went to Universal then Disney for the second week WELLLL the Universal days were FREEEEEZING we had heavy coats,gloves and lots of hot chocolate... The Disney week was WARM and we wore shorts sooo ya never know what you're going to get til ya get there. Good Luck with planning
