We are debating on going to disneyland the last week of May, but wonder if it would be better to wait and go in October. Mostly worried about the crowds in May with it being around labor day, graduation nights, and conventions. If we choose to wait till October are there days we should avoid? We were at one time thinking of going in September, but my kids are really wanting to ride Tower of Terror and I was told it is closed during this time.? Please Help!?

I my opinion, the best time is" anytime". We always go during the summer since most rides are up and going.

Well, this year I would go in October because the new Nemo Submarine ride and Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island will be open and hopefully running smoothly by then. Maybe by October the hoopla of the new attractions will have died down a bit. (If you go in May, Nemo won't be open yet.)

If you go in late October (20th and on) the Haunted Mansion "Nightmare Before Christmas" layover will be done by then, however It's a Small World will most likely close around this time for it's Christmas holiday layover. Also, the Tower of Terror was open at this time last October, and most likely will be again. I can't imagine Disney closing this attraction during Holloween time and during the "Not So Scary Holloween Party".

Another suggestion for you is to go during the weekdays (Mon, Tues, Weds, Thurs) during the summer months (July, August) because the new attractions will be open, all the major attractions should be running, and all shows/fireworks will be taking place daily/nightly. The last week of August would probably be the best time during the summer for lower crowds since many schools will have started by then.

I'm sure others will be able to give you great tips. Hope you have a wonderful time when you do go!:cool1:

blackjack is right on the $$$. We did DL the week 'before' Memorial day in 05.Everything was fine.:thumbsup2

We went the last week of October and had a blast. The crowd level was not too high. There were a few rides closed like Matterhorn, Small World, Casey Junior. So that was a big bummer for us. But we got so much done and are planning to go back the same time this year.
