Hi,

Will the Spring Break crowd be done by the first week in April? When is a good "not-so-busy" time to go after spring break that will miss all the different crowds (I know different states have different spring breaks than us up in Canada)???? Suggestions? If we went for a week either the first, second or third week in April, which would be best?

Thanks!

First week of April is leading up to Easter. It will be slammed. It will also be slammed the week after Easter. Expect it to let up the following week.

This year LAUSD (L.A.'s public school district) has Spring Break March 30th - April 6th. Having said that, I have gone twice during this time period (and we're going again this year) and while it is busy it is not undoable.

When I checked crowd calendars a while back it seemed like mid-April to end of April was the least busy time. It will still be quite "springy" in the parks and they should still have the Springtime Round-up out at the Big Thunder Jamboree area. It's so cute with all the characters dressed in their Easter colors!

Based on the recent past and the AP blockout calendar, I would guess that Spring Break-season schedule is going to extend until April 12th (the weekend after Easter). A number of Southern California school districts have April 6th through the 10th off, so I would expect the parks to still be busy during that period.

I think if you want to miss the crowds, then the later in April you can go, the better. That being said, it's likely that the park will be back to the non-Spring Break-season schedule (shorter operating hours, reduced entertainment, etc.).

Years ago we went the last week of April into the first week of May. It was very busy on the weekend, but the weekdays were very thin. It was great, as our kids were younger and we hardly got them onto any of fantasyland rides on the weekend, but over and over on the weekdays. Highly suggest that time if you don't have to worry about pulling kids out of school.

Thanks everyone! We really can go anytime, so can be flexible. Thanks for the advice!

The thread title is amusing. And is like an oxymoron, such as jumbo shrimp. Lol
