IMO unless you are only going for 1 day and you dont have time, get a hopper. It's the best deal and even if you dont' have time to go explore the whole park there are a few MUST DO rides at DCA.

Considering any ticket longer than 1 day (2+ days) is a park hopper, you will most likely get park hoppers. I would go to DCA to try out some of the good rides that they have there (Soarin, Tower of Terror, California Screamin, Monster's Inc.). The only non park hopper for more than a day that I know of is a Costco ticket for 4 days (1 park 1 day) for So. Cal residents.

Also, getawaytoday.com is offering park hoppers with 2 early entries which is different than any other park hoppers out there, so if you want double EE priviledges (w/o staying onsite) buy from them. You don't even have to buy a package with them.

For a first timer? During the off season? Willing to do all attractions?

2-3 days for DL
Maximum 1 day for DCA.

So a 3 or 4 day park hopper. 5 if you want to be safe.
