Best Ticket Deal

My husband and I are new DVC owners. We will be traveling to WDW for 4 days in September and 4 to 5 days in December.

Does anyone have any recommendations for the best way to buy park tickets? Best place to purchase? Best way to purchase? i.e. Season Pass, non expiring tickets, etc.

Just interested in getting opinions on what others do.

Welcome neighbors as for as tickets go unless your a Fl resident then its best to purchase your tickets when you check in so you can have them added to you KTTW. I've looked everywhere. Disney Store and Outlet's. they are still the same price except taxes are cheaper in Fl than Ms. Season tickets are nice if you plan to visit more than twice a year.

Dvc members get a discount on annual passes. If you are looking for hoppers the mousesavers newsletter has a discount link.

If you'll be doing two trips for 4-5 days it may be worthwhile to get the DVC annual pass ($100 discount). You can park hop to all 4 main parks and leisurely tour as opposed to the traditional park hoppers tickets and you can get other discounts with the annual passes as well for rooms and dining. And maybe you'll end up visiting one more time before next September and then it's a no brainer - definitely get the passes. Have Fun!!

There are tons if discount ticket site out there, but i think your best option would be the DVC discounted AP. I think it's around 380. A ten 10 non expiring hopper is about $100 more.

We can usually make it down to WDW only once a year , so APs aren't the best deal for us. Once we bought into DVC and knew we would be going down each year, we decided to try and get as much bang for our buck with tix.

We bought the maximum non-expiring tix (10 days) from an online discount ticket site (comparing prices, of course) and then had the paper tix transferred to our KTTW after we checked in. Once we returned home, I kept our KTTW with the remaining days on them in a safe place for the next trip. On the next trip, I had the remaining days on them transferred over the our new KTTW to use during that vacation.

We'll be going later this year and have already bought our new 10-day non-expiry tix to transfer onto this year's KTTW. This works for us!

I like to keep my AP separate from my room key. If it demagnetizes or gets too wet to work well after Kali Rapids, it's easily replaced with an id at Guest Services.

Annual passes would obviously expire after a year, but on the other passes you can add the no expiry option to keep them active.

we recently purchased tix via undercover tourist with mousesaver discount....we were also allowed to "transfer" the tickets to our room key as well even though we didn't purchase tix directly from Disney. If I recall they also offered free shipping. I will purchase thru undercover next time as well, great customer service.

If you decide to do this, I strongly recommend making copies (front and back) of everything associated with the the transfer...the paper tix, the transfer paperwork the CM who does the transfer can give you, and (when you get home) the KTTW the tix were transferred to. We've never had a problem, but just in case....

Even still, if you plan your yearly trips just right, you can get two years worth of trips on one AP. Just do the second year visit one week before expiration at least. So if you go to WDW Oct 1 -7 this year, just plan next years trip by Sept 20 or so. This is what we do to get the most bang for the buck.

If this still doesn't work, then I agree the Mousesaver's link is your best bet.

Alas, for me anyway, this isn't an option right now since we're planning to visit this your w/ my family who can only go the last week of Oct - can't make Nov, and We can't do Sept... next year looks to be the first week of Nov since we're going w/ friends, and 1 is a teacher and that should be a teacher work day week so he won't need to get a substitute....



I really hope down the road to be able to get 2 vacations out of an annual pass but for right now either Undercover Tourist or the Stars and Stipes tickets via Shades of Green will be the way to go for us

I hadn't really thought about that before, but it makes sense! Unfortunately, now that our DSs are older and we're hesitant to pull them out of class, school vacation dates really impact our flexibility. APs will probably work for us at some point though. Thanks.

My kids are older as well............we go during the summer (I know...hot and humid ! But we deal ). So we plan one trip mid August and then the next year we go early August so we can still use our AP. We also do sneak 3-4 day weekend quickie trips in too. One year we got 5 trips in one year our of our AP's ! But some trips were only 3 days. I don't know what month you are going to WDW this year. Does the 3 month summer vacation affect your flexibility ? I know it does with alot. I'm an RN and used to have an awful time getting approved for summer vacations. Now I have a good amount of seniority so I do get priority consideration----my biggest perk to sticking with the same employer for 16 years !
But I had years where we HAD to pull the kids out of school when they were younger because my vacation requests were not approved during the summer. It was Fall trips or no vacations at all. We chose the first choice.
