I was watching a holiday programme last night and it was asking for suggestions for a programme they are going to make called the 50 foods to try before you die. My mum and I immediately thought of sending in something about the DCL but I'm spoilt for choice rather so I was hoping some of you might be able to help me out.

I need what it is (obviously) and what makes it so special in no more than 50 words. Fire away!

The stollen/cream/jam/fresh berries concoction at Palo's brunch. Simply the best thing I have ever eaten in my life...period.

As an honorable mention I would add the White Chocolate Raspberry Domes from Lumiere's rotation menu. They were made up of chocolate and raspberry mouse, covered in white chocolate...delicious!

Can you tell I have a sweet tooth?

The Baked Alaska ... It's something that you just have to try. One of those things that are hard to make at home and really does deserve the pomp and circumstance that DCL serves it with.

Also their Creme Brule' is so smooooooooooooooth going down!

There was not much I did not enjoy!!!

My favorites included:
Maple glazed salmon
Shrimp wraps
Cookies BQ ribs on CC
Warm chocolate lava cake
The big chocolate chip cookies
MM ice cream bar
and the Konk Koolers on CC
::yes::

Okay, it's not the best thing I've ever eaten, but it's pretty close. The chocolate hazelnut souffle, also at Palo, was unbelievable. Hubby isn't a dessert person and he was all over the souffle at dinner and the stollen at brunch. Decadent. Delicious. YUM!

Ginny

ps...double-yum on the Konk Kooler!!

I say the souffle at Palo's as well. MMMmmm. Makes me hungry just thinking about it!

the warm chocolate lava cake is yummy!

Oatmeal raisin cookies from room service at 2AM! It don't get no better. (bad English intended):hyper:

Chocolate souffle at Palos with the vanilla sauce.... YUMMY!! I always ordered 2. It is just the most delicious thing I have EVER tasted. Its kind of like a combination of warm brownies, vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. I NEED one now. Only 300 and some days until I get one. I'm not sure I am going to make it!!

The stollen was also very good. I did not expect it to be so wonderful but that would definately be my choice for honorable mentioned.

Another vote for the stollen at Palo Brunch.

There are numerous reasons we rebook DCL every year, but that's at the top of my list!:sunny:

The banana cream creme brulee at Animator's is definitely a sweet memory, literally

The best entree however was probably the filet mignon with the light and dark sauces. Can't remember the name, only the smooth buttery taste.

Maybe just send in 5 words "Try DCL before you die"... good advice no?

Sea bass with champagne sauce in Lumiere's/Triton's.
