Using the disney visa card has made me a much smarter disney goer. I have used it for the kids play and stay free promo, will get 100 disney dollars when I show up, use the card for all my major purchases, which will allow me to rack up more disney dollars. I never carry a balance over, so I don't have to pay a finance charge. I will have over 300 disney dollars to spend while at disney world. If you go to disney world regularly, I would have this card. If I'm stupid and missing where it is costing me, let me know.

I also have used my Disney Visa to rack up around $265 for our trip next month. I used it like my MAC card - every time I purchased I subtracted from my check register and then pay it off at the end of the month.

Only thing I didn't do was purchase the stay & play free package for my $100 Disney $$$. I did however use it this month to buy $600 in park passes (which nets me 18 points, with the triple points offer from Disney store!!! :teeth:

Have a wonderful wonderful trip wreee1971!!!!!

How much money do you have to spend in order to earn a point? How many points does it take to earn $10 disney dollars?

You only get a 1% return on your purchases unless Disney is having a promotion (such as the recent 3% at the disney store till Christmas). So you would need to spend $1000 to get $10. Some people are very savy with their card and get some SERIOUS points but laypeople like me dont find it to work out to be such a good deal. I only average about 50 points a trip.

Hey - just the folks I want to chat with!!!! I have about $130 worth that I'd like to use at AKL - either picking up my Luau tickets at guest relations, or at Simba's Cubhouse, or at Boma. Has anyone done this? I called AKL directly and the CM that answered said she wasn't sure who accepted these (her attempt to transfer me, landed me on the Disney Cruise line!).

Thanks for any info you have!

Harambe,

I used $165 on our trip earlier this month. The hotel just applied it to our room charging privileges. The CM at the Poly Concierge had never done it before but another CM showed her how to do it. It was easy!

DznyDreams - SYDNCLAIRESMOM is correct. You get a 1% return - so you have to spend $100 to get 1 Disney $. It truly takes a good bit to rack up some points.

As I said before, the only way we are able to do so, is to use it like our Debit/MAC card. We only use it to make purchases we can cover with cash, and we subtract the amount from our check register each time we use it. Then when the bill comes in, we pay it off. The $265 Disney money we earned from May through December.

Every little bit helps though.
