Best temp check/security plan

We have DL park reservations for June 13, 14, 15. We are staying offsite at the Anaheim Hilton. I've heard stories of long waits to get through security on Harbor where the shuttles drop you off. Is it possible to take an uber to Downtown DIsney and enter from that side of the parks? Any other tricks to shortening the security/health check wait?

Get there early is what worked for us. June 2 and 3 I got to the Harbor line at 7:30 and 7:00 respectively and was through security easily and in line at the park gates before they opened. June 5 and 6 I went earlier because I knew the line would be longer for AC so I was in line close to 6 am and while there was already a line, it went quick and I was still one of the first in the parks when the gates opened. Its only bad if you try to time it as park opening is scheduled to happen or close to that. Get there early if you are concerned about the line.

Yesterday we used the Downtown Disney entrance, which I would definitely recommend. We got there just a few minutes before security opened at 8:00 and line was very small. We were in DCA by 8:15, and that was with a restroom break on our way to the park. To get there from the Anaheim Hilton I think you would walk west on Katella, then north on Disneyland Drive, then west again on Paradise Way.
