Best Table Service at a Resort (dinner)?

We have dinner reservations at Whispering Canyon Cafe in November. I originally booked this thinking that my kids would enjoy the antics, but I have been reading so many bad reviews about the food lately, that I'm wondering if it's worth it. On the day in question we'll be at DHS, and we don't have park hopper passes, so dinner will need to be at one of the resorts. We're trying lunch at the 50's Prime Time Cafe. Just not crazy about food choices at DHS. We'll be on the dining plan, and have one table service credit to use on this evening. During this trip we are also planning to have breakfast at Boma and Kona. Have eaten at Trail's End, Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare, Citricos, California Grill and Boatwrights in the past. Looking for something new and different. Thanks in advance for your suggestions! :)

Don't read too much into negative reviews first off, it is all opinionated and it seems people are more likely to post their negative reviews first. We don't love WCC but did enjoy it. It is not one of our must-do's every trip but we go about ever other time. Chef Mickey is one of our must-do's along with the 50's Prime Time. Have you tried OHana? It is pretty good as well. :goodvibes

For every post you see of people who don't like WCC you will find at least one of people who rave about it. We stayed at WL a few years ago and ate lunch and dinner at WCC and enjoyed each of our meals. If you think your kids are going to like it and the menu appeals to you then keep your reservation and go. It is worth trying out.

I told my husband I need to stay off the Restaurant board because we have reservations to eat at Jiko and I saw a thread complaining about it the other day. So it has started to sway my thoughts on it. But I remember one year we canceled Yak and Yeti because we had seen some questionable reviews and then decided to go the next year. Our daughter loved it and has requested it again.
