I have the weirdest kid, he is 3 and loves sushi. We are staying at CR can we go to Cali Grill just for sushi or do they allow you to take it out to eat in the room sitting on the balcony watching wishes? Just wondering if this is even possible.

Also are there any other places to get good sushi in Disney?

Our 2.5 year old loves sushi too. Actually CG has ok sushi but Kimonos or Wolf Gang Puck has better. WE also enjoy Tokyo Dining Sushi as well.

for some reason I recall there being seats at the sushi bar in CG. But that could be the bottle of wine talking.

Our 2.5 year old loves sushi as well.... i think it's just part of this day and age. I am not sure about he california grill doing "take out" per se. I believe you can get takeout from Kimonos, or Tokyo Dining had a really nice sushi menu and they couldn't have been nicer to my kids.

I don't think Cali Grill does 'take out' per say. I certainly don't see any on the in-room dining menu. Last September, we felt that the sushi was probably the highlight of our dinner there.

We tried to get take out from Kimonos once upon a time (when we stayed at the Swan, and they would not do it there).

I can say, the QS in Japan in Epcot has a few good selections. The miso soup is not too great, but the other selections are good. The noodle/shrimp soup is very good (Tmpura shrimp udon). The sushi is not made to order. Fresh, but not custom made. Limited selection. The teriyaki chicken is fairly good though, esp compared with the burgers next door.

Kimonos is very good, if a little pricey. During dinner hours though, it would be a fairly quick hop from MGM or WS. No take out, but the sushi bar is pretty quick.

I ate at the TS in Japan shortly before the remodel, and I didn't have sushi, so I can't comment on that. We did teppanaki side and paying for an extra sushi roll was more than I wanted to spend.

I've also had sushi at wolfgang Puck Cafe. We love the Wolfgang Puck QS on th eMarketplace side, so we thought we'd like the Cafe on the other side. We were not very impressed. Our experience was tainted by poor service. The sushi was not bad in itself, but the rest of the food was just alright. They do have stand alone sushi bar area, so maybe you can get a walk up there. I never tried though, so I don't know.

As far as sushi we like CG and Wolfgang Pucks the best. Kimonos was pretty good but not a great selection of rolls (more smaller pieces.) I did not like Tokyo Dining at all-did not taste fresh. I used to love the old lounge. The new one is LOUD and annoying. I don't like the counter service in Japan either.

Slightly OT, but I don't think your kid is weird...:goodvibes but then again, both of my girls have been eating sushi since they were about 6-7 months & they will keep up with any adults with their preferences. I don't think a week goes by without DD1 asking if we're going to have sushi...

As for your question, I dunno know the answer, but I'll check for myself in about 10 days..:cool1:
