We usually go to WDW in May, but this year we are taking friends who do not take their kids out of school for vacations. Please tell me what is your favorite month in the summer to go and why. Thanks....:sunny:

The only summer month we have ever been to WDW is August, and It is TOO HOT, for me!

Late August as a lot of states have gone back to school, but not ours.:D

Was there last july , hot , humid .. Very hot and humid I should say.. Nice summer thunderstorms in the afternoon.. The only good thing is the crowds arent really that bad.

We also won't take our children out of school for vacation, so we've visited WDW in June, July and early August.

Early June was the least crowded except for Gay Day weekend which did fill the parks and resorts more.

Late June - August all seem about the same to us. Hot, humid with the usual afternoon shower. We enjoy going in the summer because:

1. We don't mind the heat...it's no worse than home
2. The pools all feel really good that time of year.
3. All the attractions that are "seasonally closed" are usually open.
4. Park hours are longer....but then again so are the lines!
5. Refurbishments to attractions and pools are often done in the non-summer months, so they aren't closed when we're there.
6. It makes us appreciate the awesome invention called air conditioning!

Don't worry, you'll have a blast. Next year, we're going during the 4th of July, which I understand is crowded but a fun time at WDW.

We usually go in July but also have been in early August. Hot, humid, late day cooling thundershower. If you go mid to late August the parks close earlier. July is our second favorite time (Easter break time has the absolute best weather and longer park openings) but I am a teacher so summer it is. Don't worry, you'll have a great time. Start out early, go back to your room and enjoy the pool mid day, and go back to the parks after the rain for the evening.

If you go in the summer when the kids are out of school there isn't really a month that is different if you are talking mid June to end of August- it rains nearly everyday in the afternoon, it is very hot and humid, and it is very crowded. I do not have a favorite summer month, they are all bad. When my kids were young we did that every summer, can't help you.

Well, I've done Jan, June, July,Aug, Oct, and Dec. And for our family, we rather LIKE August. And June ain't so bad either. (didn't care much for the crowds over the 4th. Could get same weather and fewer folks in AUgust!) I guess it just depend upon your cup of tea. Why do we like the summer months? For many of the reasons stated. Sure lines are smaller in January... lines get REALLY short when the attraction is closed, LOL! And while we have been in Dec when it was balmy, we have also been in Jan and Oct and froze our sweet batookas off or watched 5 days of constant cold rain pour down. Yeah sure it rains in the summer -- but it feels GOOD. Not eeyore dreary! And you can count on the fact that those water parks will feel equally good and be open and ready for you in the good ol summer time. We love the pools, the water parks, and walking around the areas -- the August heat is pretty intense, but if you go in late August, and plan your days right (park in am and pm, with pool time and rest inbetween) you can really prosper! Southern schools go back in the 2nd week of August, yet park hours typically don't start to cut back until the 3rd or 4th week. THe labor day crowds don't surface until the 4th week. We liked that 2nd/3rd week of August so much last time we're doing it again in a few weeks -- and by choice! If I had to pick another time, I wouldn't mind early June... trouble is, for us, that interferes with baseball season for my boys and their coachin' dad. We JUST finished our reg. spring season this week!

Basically, if you want to find something to complain about in any season, you can find it. Similarly -- the way I see it, it's Disney, and if you try just as hard, you can find something to love in any season, too! I adnit it though -- we are TICKED OFF that we didn't know about the ESPN thing until all our ressies were solid as stone. My dh, son and BIL are besides themselves to know they are missing all the ESPN 25 yr hoopla -- all by 6 crummy days! AUGGHHH!

Oh well -- enjoy planning that summertime trip!

Late August, while quite hot, is not as crowded as some of the schools have already started back. I think it's also a cheaper "season".

We go in early June... every year for the past 4. Our kids are off by Memorial Day weekend... During the first couple weeks of June (I'm told) crowds are lower, than later in the summer. You still get all the heat and a regular afternoon rain, though. Never been in July or August.

And, in our never-ceasing search for just the facts, ma'am, here's the scoop. Check out #13.

Well THAT explains alot. We live very near Charleston WV (#19 versus Orlando's #13). Heck -- probably not even statistically different! So if you're living in oh say, city #75 or so, I guess you should avoid a summer trip because you'll sweat to dehydration?

(Just please don't try to compensate by pouring on the old spice...)<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_3_64.gif' alt='Yuck' border=0></a>

Being from #97 (Portland ME - which I just can't understand that, given that summer lasts just - oh - two months here if we are lucky) any season at WDW is a big change for me.

We are going to try some time there at the end of August 2005. Just me and my DGD9 (then will be 10) for a quick trip. We know it will be hot, but hoping the crowds are a bit less. She loves the pool, so no real issue with the afternoon break. And she's been so much, that even she doesn't have to go on everything anymore.

I wouldn't touch from mid-june to mid-aug.
