Hi All,

this year we will be bringing a friend to the happiest place on earth, usually we would get AP rates for a resort hotel, but now we either need to get 2 rooms or book a suite. There will be my husband and I, our 20 year old friend, and 5 and 2 year old.

We would like a place that has a separate room for us and the 2 yr old, and either a separate room for the 20 year old and 4 year old, or a pull out couch for them.

We would like to keep it under 150 a night ( otherwise we might get lucky and get PP for 79 a night with AP passes and get two rooms)

I have looked into Emabassy suites south. looks good.

farfield looks good, but it does not mention if the rooms are private.

comfort inn maingate looks good. a little over 100 bucks for a 2 bathroom suite, but does not mention if the beds are in separate rooms.

Thanks for any input!

Hi Albort,

Yes I can call and ask, but each hotel will tell me they are the best. I want an honest answer. Such as, "yes they have a separate room, but I would never stay at such n such hotel again," Or I recommend the such n' such, our family loved it and it was close to the park.

We frequently stay at Embassy Suites on Harbor since we're Hilton members- the bedroom has a door and is separate- either a king bed or 2 doubles. The living area has a small fridges, microwave, and sink- and the couch pulls out to a double bed.

We also stayed at Doubltree Suites in a suite room- 2 queen beds in bedroom and couch pulled out to a queen sleeper. The room was smaller, but the beds were nicer.

I haven't stayed at any of the ones you have mentioned because we like to be right at the crosswalk since I cannot handle 3 kids and a double stroller by myself on a shuttle!!

Well we like the Desert Inn and Suites. It's not relaly fancy, but it's right across the street at the crosswalk. It's clean and comfortable and you CANNOT beat the prices. This month we had a room with 4 queen beds, 2 bathrooms and a seperate parlor with a sofa bed and it's own tv for $129 a night. It was great! Good luck!

I always check out www.tripadvisor.com
They have excellent reviews of the hotels and are pretty current and accurate. Good luck.

Us too! We just came back from a 5-night stay at the Embassy Suites South (on Harbour) and LOVED it. As KelsiesMommy said, you get a separate BR with either 2 doubles or a king and a fold out couch in the living room. The full breakfast is awesome as is the managers reception if you are at the hotel then (5:30 to 7:30 pm).

You are pretty much limited to ART or driving (a little too far to walk with kids), but the ART kiosk is just to the right of the entrance (as you face it) and the pick up is right in front of the hotel. It was very convenient, and we never had much of a wait. Also, there are several restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the hotel. Highly recommend!

Embassy suites is beautiful, not walking distance but if you dont care then do it. ihave stayed there.

Of the 3 you mentioned, Embassy Suites is probably the newest (built in the last few years) & probably the nicest. I'm not sure which Fairfield you're looking at, but if it's the one on Harbor in the 1600's, it is probably the closest & within walking distance. The Comfort Inn would probably be the most typical of a generic hotel room.

I would suggest checking each hotel's specific location website to see if they had floor plans available for viewing or doing a search through these forums for specific hotel information in another thread.

thanks so much to all who replied. I have stayed at a different Emabassy suites before, and loved it.

Thanks!:)

If you decide to stay at the Embassy Suites South, be sure to request a theme park view. Of course you may not get it, but we were lucky enough to get one. We could see California Screamin', the Sun Wheel, Space Mountain and The Matterhorn from our room. We could also see the fireworks.

Here's the link to my review with pictures of the Camelot Inn

I've also stayed at the Carousel Inn in a 2 bed 2 bath suite. Carousel is my favorite walking distance hotel. The suite was really nice. We had a standard size hotel room with 2 queens and a full bath, plus through a door in the back there was another room with a queen bed, and another full bath.

I've stayed at the Fairfield and I'm not sure if they have other rooms, but when I tried to book a mini suite it really was not what I expected. It was pretty much a standard hotel room with a sofabed squeezed into it. The 'sofabed' was no bigger than a twin bed and there was no room to walk around it. You had to get in bed by crawling in from the end.

At Dessert Inn, we had a Jr Parlor Suite, which was ok, but still small. When you first walk in there was a entertainment center with TV, microwave and fridge, a chair, a sofabed and a coffee table. This sofabed was at least as big as a full size bed. Through a door there was a room with 2 queens, another TV and a bathroom. I know Dessert Inn has bigger rooms, but I've not stayed in one.

I have stayed at the Comfort Inn Maingate twice and we love it. The beds in the kids suites are great. In the main room, you have 2 queen beds and then a french door with sheers leads to the other room with a set of bunk beds. The kids room has it's own tv and a kid-size table and stools. There are kids suites with a second bathroom attached to the kids room. We had one of those and they were great. We had a friend and her 3 yr old stay there and they felt like they had their own room!
Having said all that, it isn't within walking distance. The ART is next door and we found it quite convenient. My husband did walk it a few times and it is a solid 25 min walk. But, the place is clean and friendly and we appreciated the free breakfast. I recommend it highly!

Another vote for Camelot.
(the record's stuck,the record's stuck):lmao:

We booked Camelot for our upcoming trip. I like to location, the size of the family suite and the view of fireworks.

Wow that is a good deal. Did not know they had a room with 4 queen beds. Usually i've stayed in double. I hate double beds.

Anyway, we've had the 2 room suite at the carousel inn and suites before. It's always been very clean and about $159 if I remember correctly. Breakfast isnt much but we usually eat at the Riverbelle anyway. I have to have my mickey pancakes!!!

Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites; 10 minute walk to the main gate.

A bientot.
