best stroller for an infant at WDW!!

We are headed to WDW in two weeks and I am still having a really hard time finding the "right" stroller! We will be traveling with three kids (5 years, 3 years and 4 months). My older kids don't need a stroller of any type and I do plan to wear my baby often but I will not be able to do it constantly. The strollers at WDW are great for bigger kids but won't work at all for the baby ... I need something super light weight (we will take it on the plan/bus/monorail etc ...). It needs to recline (a lot ) so she can sleep, I'd like a descent sunshade. Any suggestions!? TIA!!

I think you may be underestimating just how much walking there is to do at WDW. Your three year old is going to need a lot of breaks, or a stroller. Don't be shocked if your five year old wants an occasional stroller ride, either.

I cannot recommend the Citi Mini double by Baby Jogger strongly enough.

My wife wore our four month old for most of the trip, but did lay him down from time to time. My two year old rode in the stroller the entire trip.

This baby has it all - excellent sun shade, nice basket on the bottom, reclines as far as you want it to (upright to all but completely flat), folds very easily, and is quite light (for a double stroller). Handles like a dream, you can push (and turn) it with one hand, and it fits in any doorway. Pricey, but worth every single penny.

You'll notice that Orlando Stroller rentals uses these for their fleet - there is a reason for this - these strollers perform very well, and are quite durable.

Thanks. We were at WDW about a year and a half ago (when my older two were 4 and 2.5) we did rent the WDW doubler stroller then but used it very little. We always schedule a lot of breaks but we are city folk and do a lot of walking so my kids are pretty used to it. If we find we need it we will rent a double stroller from WDW ... I am really looking for something just for the baby right now ... I need it for the airport also so I cannot rent something from Oralndo. Any lightweight, easy to transport infant reclining strollers out there ?

Ditto everything t catt said!! I used Orlando stroller co last year for my 5 and 8 year olds!! There is NO way they could have hung in there with all that walking! We had a much better time just being able to push them around with no complaints of being tired.

I've just used my travel system (evenflo Aura Elite) when we were there with our then 4 month old son last June. We took it on the bus and monorail, and others guests were extremely nice and helped a lot (without me ever asking, they volunteered). Now we did drive to Disney since at the time we only lived a couple hours away (but stayed for the weekend). However, I flew with my son and took the travel system a couple months later when we moved (DH drove the moving truck so it was only me and DS). We flew Southwest and they did a gate check of the stroller and carrier and they were very helpful.

The travel system I have is bulky, but it made things SO much easier on me.

If you are looking for just a stroller for your little one I would recommend the umbrella strollers by Maclaren. I have the volo which does not recline but the model up (the triumph I believe) does. It is so incredibly light weight and the weight limit is 55 lbs so the older ones can also ride in it a bit while you wear the baby in a carrier. It is very good to bring the carrier (I had a Bjorn) because the lines can be long and the baby can get heavy just holding. I purchased my stroller new on eBay. Good luck!

I used the Sit N Stand stroller last year for my 2 month old and 3.5 year old. It worked out well. The infant seat hooked right into the front section and then my older child could use the sit n stand area as he wanted, which was a lot.

Most rides at MK will let you take an infant carrier right on.

The stroller is a bit bulky when folded so getting on the buses is a challenge if you do not have a second adult present to help.

We have a baby jogger at home but they can be heavy, and expensive. I'm a fan of ordering something cheap from Walmart that reclines. Then if it gets lost/ stolen I don't care. We usually then donate it to Give Kids the World before we leave.

For DS's 1st trip at 12 weeks, we just used our quattro stroller; he was in the car seat at first, and then we put him in the stroller but he was still pretty floppy in it. When we went for his 2nd trip he was 4.5 months and he was fine in the stroller (no car seat). After the 3rd (or 4th) trip we decided that the stroller was too big and heavy to schlep on and off the trams etc, we bought a graco literider, which allows for him to fully recline. It's also much lighter than the quattro, and has the same big basket. It's now our official WDW stroller, loaded up with Mickey & DVC stickers!
I wonder if your older kids might do well with one of those sit & stand strollers?

We took DD at 6 months old. We brought our stroller (a Combi) and never used it for her. It held our bags. We thought we'd want something for her to lay down in, but she didn't really like the stroller at all. It was too overwhelming for her to have all of the stuff flying by her when she was in the stroller.

I wore her in the Moby wrap the entire time. It was so much easier that way, and the Moby doesn't get uncomfortable/hot at all. (techically mine is a Lovey Duds wrap from Etsy, but it's the same concept as a Moby).

Also a big Combi fan... not to mention the newer models go up to 55lbs... so if you are carrying your little one... one of the older two can catch a ride.

We actually prefer the Combis over Maclarens... but I do feel the Mac's handle better...

You know your family best... and like you've said... you always have the ability to rent a double stroller if need be for your older ones! I'd vote for a Combi if your looking for something simple yet worthy for Disney without breaking the bank (too much).

We bought the Joovey Kooper last summer and love it...reclines all the way and the shade is great! Also folds up like an umbrella stroller and is not as pricey as other strollers

Love the Peg Perego Pliko P3. It reclines pretty much flat and has a large canopy. Not a huge basket underneath but it has always been enough. Also added bonus is a toddler can stand on the back and ride if they need a break.

do those carry baskets fit into the disney strollers?

been a few years so i forget what they are called, but they go onto strollers, shopping carts and can be used as car seats etc...our son loved his when he was little, traveled all over in it

I wouldnt want to carry a bowling ball all over Disney, so you may wish to reconsider carrying a baby so much.
