Best strategy for switching resorts at 7 months?

Does anyone have suggestions for the best strategy for switching resorts at 7 months? I am booked at OKW HH for Oct 18-24. I would like to switch to BLT or WLV at 7 months. My problem is that I don't have enough points without borrowing to book on line at 8 am and then cancel the OKW and I would not be able to use the original points before the end of my September Use Year . I have the feeling that even if I get in the phone queue right at 9 I will be shut out. Any suggestions for success? What if I booked just the first night at 8 online and then cancel the original and modify the new ressie at 9 on the phone?

No benefit calling MS over booking online. Some have reported success using 2 computers to partially book the new reservation, canceling your existing reservation with the other computer or pad and completing the new reservation with the released points.

Rebook by phone first thing as many days earlier as you can without borrowing. Then cancel the days at the start of the trip that you don't need later.

Booking the first night online at 8:00 am and then trying to change at 9:00 am isn't going to lock things is the way it does at 11 months...as mentioned, I would probably just try to call MS and hope for the best.

When does the 7 month window go "live" online? At midnight EDT or when Member Services opens? We've been member for years, but I really want to change a ressie and get the best possible switch at the 7 months.
