Best strategy for MVMCP

We will be there at MVMCP on 12/18. We have PS at CRT at 5:35. Is that early enough? I thought the party started at 7 pm. Last years schedule some of the extra shows around 6.

The party officially starts at 7:00p but because they don't kick party goers out for that hour the park is closed (to be cleared out and prepared for 7:00p), they do have one showing of the Twas the Night Before Christmas show in Tomorrowland for those party goers stuck there. The rest of the park is closed.

Also, this year's location of where they ask party goers to stay while they clear out the rest of the park could change. For the Halloween party this year they changed it from Tomorrowland to Adventureland. You never know!

I think 5:35p is great. You'll probably be done just before 7:00p. I don't like being herded to Tomorrowland for that hour because it's so crowded.

We were happy with what we accomplished last year. It was a travel day for us so we got there right at 6 when they were herding everyone into Tomorrowland and did Buzz, Stitch, the TTA all with no wait. Then got our picture made. (Line was about 10mins) We then went over & got cookies/Hot choc, did Splash and came out of splash in time to watch the parade. (No waiting.) We ate at Pecos and came out in time to watch the Fireworks. Then we did HM and Pirates got more cookies and then went back over to Tomorrowland to see the show in the Galaxy theater. (This was the only show my kids wanted to watch.) We left during the late parade and it was snowing. Perfect beginning to our trip last year!

Just FYI. We have never been to the Christmas party, but just last week attended our 5th MNSSHP party. We also in the past were herded into Tomorrowland between 6:00 - 7:00. This year (and I also read from others that attended on other evenings) we were put into the Liberty Square/Frontierland area. If they follow this with the Christmas party, Cosmic Rays will not be open to eat at. Pecos Bill was open though. Don't know if that helps, but just trying to pass on some info.

As suggested be sure to do the things, shows, etc. that are only available during the party. Save the rides for another day unless you have time to do both. You are paying for the special events and it would be a shame to miss them.

Country Bears has a Christmas version, be sure to see that.

Thanks for all the advice. I plan on going next Dec and want to learn as much as I can. The christmas shows that are on in are they only on for mvmcp or are they there for xmas season even during the day? I hope that made sense Diane

In the beginning of December most of the special shows at MVMCP are not shown during the day...Country Bears is. The Twas the Night before Christmas 'sometimes' is shown on Saturdays in December but for the most part, they are all shown only at MVMCP.

We want to see some shows but since this will be the boys first time in WDW/MK, I'm quite sure that we will have to hit many ofthe rides that they have been talking about for MONTHS!!! :rotfl:

Hello, Don't know much about the mvmcp because this will be there first time we will go to this. I did want to say though we will be at the Poly for the same dates and we also are traveling w/2 boys ages 5 & 3 and we are going to the party on the 4th.. I just thought that was neat that we have similar plans. I may get some lime green mickey's before we leave so if you spot them say hi.

I've been around these boards for a long time I just hardly ever post. (Still under 100 posts and I think I've been around since '01)I do check the boards almost everyday though and recognize alot of the names. And I'm always glad to meet anyone who enjoys going to Disney as much as we do.

We are doing our first MVMCP on 12/1...Does this sound like a good itinerary for the party (i.e. allowing enough time between things, etc.)?

6:40: Belle’s Enchanted Christmas Storytelling
8:15: Mickey’s Twas the Night Before Christmas
9:15: Wishes
9:40: Celebrate the Season Show
10:45: Parade

Thanks for any input!

That is so cool! Make sure to say "HI" if you see us!!!!

BTW, if you don't see the lime green Mickey's but hear a man or woman constantly saying "Hayden - stop that" or "Hayden - get over here" It is probably us :rotfl:

Can anyone provide any detail about the Christmas shows? How long are they? Will they hold a 2 year old's attention?

We had originally planned on going to MVMCP, but are now reconsidering whether it will be worth the money. We will be seeing all the other parades at all the parks, and I am assuming that the characters will be in their holiday finest at times besides the MVMCP. With our 2 kids, we will most likely have to leave the park right after Wishes, so will not have the full night to take advantage of the offerings.

Still on the fence - can anyone out there help me decide.

Hi. We're going the same night as you are. Our tentative plans are similar to yours.

6:15 Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas
Ride some favorites
7:40 Belle's Enchanted Christmas
Get some cookies and cocoa and get picture taken during first parade
Wishes
More rides
10:45 Parade
Midnight Celebrate the Season Show

We're planning to do nothing all day so that we can make it til the end. My kiddos are a bit older than yours though (from 14 down to 6). We're staying in the Wing at the Contemporary so I'm thinking after midnight, we can easily just walk back to the hotel and drop into bed. :teeth:

This is my first post so I have no idea if I'm doing this right... Taking my DD for first time 12/11-12/15. Husband's first time.. my third but haven't been there since mid 80's. DD and I are very excited! We will be at MVMCP on the 13th with a 4 yr old. Planning on spending the morning in the park, taking a long nap in the afternoon and having supper at Chef Mickey's at 5pm. I would like to focus more on the special shows than the rides.

Are there any suggestions on which shows are the best for a 4 yr old? Normal bedtime is 9 pm so I'm not sure how long she's going to last.

After the first MVMCP this year, will someone post this year's actual schedule just in case there are any changes?

Are there special tee shirts or pins for the MVMCP??? Where are they sold?? And where are the photo spots to get your picture taken?? Thanks for the info 8 of us (5 kids :earseek: )will be there on Dec 6th.
