Originally we were not going to ride FOP because my sister gets motion sickness but after yet another friend telling her how amazing it is we are going to do it.

So here is what we want to accomplish...
-FOP
-NRJ
-KS
-EE
-Dinosaur

I'd love to get a FOP FP but I'm not confident in my abilities lol.

So either I get FOP or NRJ as tier 1 at 9am...

Do I RD one, FP the other, have a FP for KS and EE and then try for a 4th FP for Dinosaur and if I can't get it just do it SB?

Or should I go in the opposite order RD Dino, FP EE and KS, FP FOP and try to get a 4th for NRJ?

Or is there another way you would recommend tackling those attractions?

I don't go to AK often so I don't have a go to plan for it.

Get an FoP fastpass for 9:00-10:00. Rope drop NRJ. Get 10:00- 11:00 fp for KS. Then get 11:00- 12:00 for EE. As soon as you tap in for EE, Get 4th fast pass for Dinosaur.

I have been finding i get what i can for FOP top priority. Then safari ride i try to make it the first ride of the day when its coolest out for good animal sightings. Lastly i book dinosaur and do single rider line for EE. Id just do stand by for NRJ I would be extremely suprised to see you get a 4th fast pass for that ride. But i can see one coming up for dinosaur or EE.

I would go with option 1. It's very close to what we plan to do. Navi is much harder to get as a 4th FP then Dino. If you get the FOP FP, you can RD much closer to official start time (half hour before) since Navi is typically less than 10 mins at park open (often walk on). If you need to RD FOP you'll want to be at AK 60 to 90 mins before park open.

If you can get a FP for FOP, then take whatever time you can get. You likely won't get a 9-10 slot. I've been able to ride the above 5, in that order, using 2 different strategies (with and without FPs). Both include getting to AK 1 hour prior to opening and getting in line near the front. When they start letting people in, walk briskly towards Pandora (they will stop you at the bridge). Ride FOP first, then walk over to NRJ. You should be done with both within 1 hour. Then head over to KS, then EE, then finish with Dinosaur. I've done this without FPs, and with FPs. Assuming a 9:00 park opening, I get FPs for KS from 9:45-10:45, EE from 10:45-11:45, and Dinosaur 11:45-12:45. If I'm fortunate to get a FP for FOP, then I ride it again (because it's the best ride at WDW), and drop FP for Dinosaur.

I am one that would always hit AK an hour before park opening, and ride FoP first then hit NRJ, both standby. You can play with times and FP's for the other rides, but as mentioned you may want to ride FoP again, so grabbing a FP for that is always fine in my book, if you change your mind, you can modify it into something else. With refreshing, you can usually get Dinosaur and EE to pop up pretty regularly the day of.

One side note; if your sister gets ill from FoP, obviously your game plan will change. So, that's the only other thing to keep in mind as you choose time/strategy. And, there really isn't a way of knowing if your sister will be ill from it or not, it is so variable with people with "motion sickness" who have ridden it.

We are going for 1 full day in March. :mickeybarI know it will be crazy because of Spring Break. Would you use the same strategy? How do you tackle the afternoon? Shows? Also, if I don't get our tickets until day before or day of... how do I handle FP?

:thanks:

Yes, just expect more crowds, but as long as you are there about an hour prior to park opening, you should still be able to hit FoP and NRJ in the morning if you want to ride them both. As soon as you get your tickets, you can go ahead and book 3 FP's, and use the "refresh" method the day of to either move FP's "up" in time, or to book new ones. You can usually do that fairly well the night before, or day of (you can use your morning time in line to do some of that, or if you get your ticket the day before, which I would try to do). Afternoon is a good time for shows, and also I'd recommend eating at slightly early or late times to try to avoid some of the crowd.

Make sure you check when KS opens. We went on an EMH day during Memorial Day weekend. We were at the entry gates 1.5 hours before official opening time (we were about 3rd in line at the gates). We rope dropped FOP with absolutely no problem. We then did Navi Rive before KS opened at 9. We then went to KS. We FPed Dinosaur and EE. We did all of this, Bug's Life, and the Up show before lunch. We ate lunch at Tusker House with the ROL package, went back to the room and took a nap, then came back for the Nemo and Lion King Show (which we FPed after getting into line at EE. We were able to ride Navi again and see Pandora after dark before seeing the Tree of Life awakenings and then going to ROL. It was a good day with a good plan. I would do something like that again on an AK day.

It all depends on if you can get a FP for fop or not and if you do at what time. There are tons of scenarios that come into play whether you are on property or not and whether its emh or not. The fop fp can change the plan easily.

This is a non EMH day.

Basically if I cannot get a FP for FOP by noon we will e in the RD it or skip it. We will not take a 5pm FP as we will not be there.
