Best Steak?

I know this suggestion is not the traditional steak meal, but I had the filet option at Teppan Edo and it was extremely good!!! The atmosphere is very cool and fun! Plus the ginger chocolate cake for dessert was to die for. Great steak and fun "show" makes it worth a try for sure!

If price and/or dining credits are an issue: we really loved the ribeye at Captains Grille at the YC. (and I'm NOT a steak person)

I just had an out-of-this-world new york strip at Coral Reef a few nights ago. I know it gets hit or miss reviews, but we took a chance and wow, best meal of our trip when it came to both food AND service. Plus if you are on the dining plan, only 1 credit!

It depends on what you are looking for in a steak. Yachtsman Steakhouse if you are going for a really fine steak. LeCellier if you like mushrooms and like the flavoring of the mushroom filet. The steak isn't as good in quality but I like the flavoring the mushrooms provide.

Agreed! The filet with the mushroom risotto is out of this world. I always think the filet is small, but I'm stuffed by the time I leave!

I had steak, or the filet, at the following spots in Oct...
Yachtsman, Flying Fish, Brown Derby, LeCellier, Coral Reef and Artist Point. I pretty much started moo'ing after a few days.
Yachtsman was very nice, Flying Fish was good, Coral Reef was good. Brown Derby was surprisingly barely ok..badly overcooked. But LeCellier (lunch time) and Artist Point were both filets to die for. My traveling companions all had the same feelings, LeCellier and Artist Point were the best beef meals we had.
I didn't expect that to be the case...but there it is.

I loved the fliet at Le Cellier. It was so tender and juicy and by far the best meal I've eaten at Disney World and the one of the only times I've ever cleaned my plate!

I haven't been to Yachtsman Steakhouse but I would like to try it.

I've been to my local Shula's here at home and had an awful, awful experience. Rude service, horrible food. I would never dine at another Shula's again.

OH. Thinking of other experiences. I LOVED my beef tenderloin at Bistro de Paris! We were there in February. It came with this chocolate sauce that was to die for! DF even liked it and he's a plain, Jane, no sauce kinda guy! :thumbsup2

We just dined at Shula's a few nights ago. Expensive, for sure. But, both dh and I declared our steaks the single best steaks of our lives! We would not bother with steak anywhere else on Disney property, and we would never select Yachtsman or Le Cellier over Shula's. If you're having steak (and we don't have steak very often), why bother with anything short of the very best available?

Last week, the best steak I had was the filet mignon at Fulton's. It was ordered medium and came out perfectly pink all they way through and was thick and juicy. The worst was the strip steak at Big River Grille. It was also ordered medium and came out with absolutely no pink and had no flavor.

I just made reservations for Shulas. How close is the restaurant to the boardwalk? Thinking about checking it out after dinner. Thanks.

Shula's hands down. Flying Fish and Yachtsman also good. But Shula's is way way ahead of both.

Le Cellier used to have a good steak, since they went Signature I think the quality went down. Ate there last month and was disapointed.

Very close - walk out of the back of the Dolphin and you will see the Boardwalk. Stop in my favoite bar - the Bellevue Room and have a drink on the terrace :)

While I understand that Shula's has terrific steak, I guess it's a matter of opinion. Many people choose Yachtsman over Shula's..,.not sure why, but they do. And someday I will eat at Shula's. But for now...it's too expensive. It would cost me about $75 pp to eat there. Out of my budget.

I have eaten at LeCellier many, many times. And yes, I thought the quality had gone downhill, but still, I wanted to give it a shot for lunch when we traveled with friends mid-Oct. Well, I was hugely surprised at the quality of our lunch. As I said before, everyone felt it was the first or second best meal of the trip...and we ate a lot of signature meals!!! The filet was incredible...better than anything I've had in recent memory. but, that's just my opinion.

You are 100% right - everyone has different opinions to what they feel is good or not. Let me say a little more about Le cellier - I paid almost as much for my steak at Shula's as I did at Le Cellier and Shula's was 100% tastier than Le Cellier. I used to be a huge fan of both Le Cellier and Yachtsman. After paying a couple dollars more at Shula's it's well worth it. Most people (here anyway) like Yactsman better is because it's Disney owned and they take the meal plan. That's my poinion anyway :).

I've had steaks at Artist Point (not beef), CA Grill, Flying Fish and I think I liked FF the best only by a hair because CA grill uses teriyaki sauce or something.

Napa Rose at DL beats them all, though.

I totally agree, and Shulas is not on the DDP, thereby eliminating it from my "can do" restaurants, too expensive as well....I guess we will try yactmans I've heard many yummy things about it :goodvibes
