Best Steak at Le Cellier

I also vote for the Mushroom Filet Mignon! It was absolute favorite and I really liked the risotto as well.

(About the pretzel bread sticks...they are my favorite bread option. You can ask your server to only bring those if you don't want the other kinds they offer. We did that last time.)

I already commented on my favorite (filet), but I wanted to say  to you KathyZ. . .haven't seen you in a while.

Hi Tess, yes we mostly saw each other on the Poly thread. Since we tried BWI last time and will try AKL this time I have not kept up on the Poly thread. I spend too much time on the DIS as it is :)

GO BLUE! Do you think we have a chance of at least having a winning football season this year:confused:

Kathy Z or anyone, how do you put the cute pics under your name, and also the resort on the bottom of your post? I'm clueless! I'm a BC fan, and I know there is a pic out there somewhere. Can anyone help?

You can click on my AKL signature link and it will take you to a site that has a wide variety of choices to custom make your own signature.

In the upper left of your DIS header is "User CP." I seem to remember that was where I clicked to work on adding the signature line.

For photos it helps to have a (free) account at some place like photobucket. You can download photos from your computer to that and it will provide you with links to use on forums. I first go to resize2mail to reduce the size of my photos. Then when you are writing your message you will select the third image from the top right (looks like a landscape with mountain, yellow background & sun or moon). Click on that to utiliize the "insert image" feature.

Oops, I realized I didn't answer your question about the little picture images under our names. That is called an avatar. I'm shutting down now to go to bed. But you can find several posts about how to do an avatar.

Have fun & good luck.

There is always "hope" Kathy--how much is the question--we'll see how you fare against UCONN this weekend. :)

The Mushroom stuffed Filet is my favorite. DH had the coffe rubber strip and was quite jealous of my steak. His was good...just that mine was better.

And the risotto? Ugh...I wish I was eating it right now....

Thanks KathyZ! I have been wanting to add to my profile. I am on here way too much too! I feel like a Dis Addict!

Ok, this may be a dumb question, but what is risotto? I have never had it, is it like a rice? We have a dinner reservation in december and I love mushrooms so I am wanting to try the mushroom filet but I dont know if I want the risotto or the mashed poatoes.

Risotto is made from medium-grain rices like Italian Arborio. These kinds of rice, if properly prepared, cook up 'creamy;' the grains stick loosely to each other. Many risotto recipes include other ingredients that increase or enhance the creaminess, like actual cream or cheese. They also can include different ingredients to change the overall taste, like seafood or sausage or vegetables or... mushrooms.

Le Cellier's mushroom risotto is delicious, and is a perfect complement to the Mushroom Filet.

DH had the New York Strip Steak and I had the Mushroom Filet... Both were awesome! DH said the Strip was in the top 5 best steaks he's ever had.
