Everyone has always been so wonderful on these boards for information. I was looking for the best standard view with a balcony for the Poly. Thank you.

Samoa is a very popular long house for standard rooms in a great location with good views. All rooms have balconies except the second floor.

I do not believe Samoa is standard view anymore. I think all rooms in Samoa are now pool view rooms. I’d request Fiji and ask for the side facing the GF.

Sorry, when we stayed in February Samoa had standard. I second Fiji.

We've stayed in Fiji on the luau beach side (first floor with a patio) and it was lovely, however, it's quite loud until a little after 10 pm on luau nights. We also stayed in Rarotonga, third floor all the way at the end of the hallway where the stairs lead down to the path to TTC. This was really ideal, IMHO. We were close to GCH, the TTC path and the quiet pool. I'm not sure, however, if that side of Rarotonga will be categorized as "pool" as, technically, it faces the quiet pool. I would think about what you are looking for in a room and just make those requests such as "3rd floor" "nice view".

Maybe you got pixie dusted with an upgrade? Lucky you! Our last stay pre upcharges for pool or marina view we had a room in Samoa facing Volcano pool, it has to be my fav location at Poly. But not paying the ridiculous up charge for it :sad1:

I thought this would be a nice view too.

Maybe we did, because we were facing the volcano pool and had only booked a standard room!

Samoa is now Pool View. Standard can get upgraded now and again, because of the category change. I wouldn't ask for an upgrade; I'd just ask for third floor, nice view. The assignors know Samoa is desirable. It's why it got changed categories.
