I have no idea what to request other than non smoking. We have a sandard rooms and I wiould love to be near a pool or beach and probably in the newest rooms. What building should I request?

We were just there @ the Polynesian 7/4 - 7/8. We were in the Tokelau building, 3rd floor, with a quiet pool view. We thought it was an excellent location. The other pool was just a short walk away, along as the Great Ceremonial House and TTC. It was our first time at the Poly and we were very happy with our room and loved the whole resort!

I see you are also staying at the CBR. We stayed there the first part of our trip also (6/30 - 7/4). We had requested Martinique 25 but wound up in Aruba 56. We weren't real happy with our location there. It was quite a hike over to the Old Port Royale and we had a parking lot view. Good thing was we were very close to the bus stop.

We were just at the Poly in June for our first time & we also stayed in Tokelau. In addition to being close to the TTC & quiet pool, it is a very short walk to the beach which had wonderful hammocks to relax in.

I'm sure there are some other good buildings to choose from too. Maybe others can give you some additional opinions.

Have a great trip!

We were in Tokelau also on the 3rd floor overlooking the quiet pool. This building is also next to the arcade, laundry, and neverland club. Oh yeah it was very quiet. Soooo relaxing! Check out tikimans website or go to WDWIG.com and check out the map of the resort.

We stayed in a first floor standard view room in Figi
with a great view of the marina. The location was great
as it was near the main building and only a very short
walk to the volcano pool. We also had a nice patio since
it was first floor.

Hope you have a great time!

We have mostly stayed at the Tokelau bldg. at the Poly. We have always gotten a 3rd floor room. Its a good location. We stayed in Tahiti with a parking lot view for that trip this April. We were close to the car and the bus stop. It was a short walk to the food court. Both resorts were great.

We stayed in Samoa last Novemeber. Yes, it is smoking, but we didn't notice any smoke. Our 1st floor (rm 1607) patio walked right out to the new pool. It was awesome! VERY short walk to the GCH and could SEE the fireworks & parts of the beach from our patio even though it was garden view.
We had our patio door open a lot, maybe thats why we didn't notice any smoke, or maybe we just aren't too sensitive to it!
HTH!

Here's another vote for Tokelau, 3rd floor. We could see the water parade each night from our balcony, and could also see the GF and the castle.

Happy planning!

We are going to the Poly in Aug. and it's our first visit to this resort and I am torn as to which bldg. to request, Samoa, Tokelau, Figi or Niue. I have two teenage boys who of course want to be close to the pool but I also need non-smoking so that is a concern. Someone told me the Samoa is too noisey on the patio side becAuse it's the pathway to the pool but then I have two boys so am used to noise. Everybody has such a different opinion that I don't know what to do. I had requested Samoa with my travel agent but have read so many negative things and people telling me to go Tokelau so I'm really torn.
thanks!

We too stayed in Samoa with no trace of smoke, and I can notice smoke a mile away. We were on the 3rd floor facing the volcano pool. We could see the GF, the lagoon, and if we stretched we could even see the castle.
BTW, we requested non smoking, possibly Fiji, but Fiji was closed down. When we arrived and got Samoa, I was very worried about the smoke issue, but since it was a good location I checked it out first, before arguing for nonsmoking. So glad I did because it was beautiful, and like I said no smoke...not even an ashtray in the room.

CamColt-Thanks so much for the "smell smoke a mile away" because that is how I am. Some people aren't sensitive to it but I am, especially with my son and I with asthma and allergies.
Did you find the Samoa noisey because of high traffic from the pool?
I really am just so torn as to what bldg. and am just trying to solidify things before we leave but your right, it may have to wait until we get there and to find out exactly what is available when we get there.
Thanks again

When we opened the sliders you could definitely hear noise(kids screaming) from the pool, but once they were shut, there was no noise at all.
According to Tikimans site, he noticed a lot of smoke in that building, so you might want to think about that. We were on the 3rd floor and always walked up outside then our room was only 4 in so we didnt spend more than 10 seconds in the hallway at a time. I never noticed smoke then either, but it was a short time. Like I said, there definitely wasnt any in our room. Maybe its just luck of the draw.
