I read about Innoventions in EpCot - we never spend enough time here so I know DS would enjoy it
where would you go for a few hrs in ea park to get out of the heat and/or rain?

In MK, go on Space Mtn, Buzz Lightyear, Mickey's Philarmagic, Pooh and Peter Pan.

In MGM, there's several indoor attractions: Great Movie Ride, Muppetvision, Tower of Tower, Rockin Roller Coaster, and the arcade in Pizza Planet.

I don't know how old your son is, but he Kidcot stations in World Showcase are all covered if they are not inside. Everything is so close that you can move from country to country pretty easily without getting wet. The only drawback is you don't get to see many of the outdoor entertainers.

Last trip we had some serious, heavy rain to contend with for one full day and an extra evening.

We did Hall of Presidents and the American Adventure, two attractions we had never done before. We had a great lunch at the Plaza Rest. during a down pour and an awesome dinner at Teppanyaki during another down pour! One night we had our kids go to the Sandcastle Club to escape the rain and DH and I went to Les Chefs, very romantic sitting at a window seat watching the rain!;)

My best advice is to put on a poncho and go, you will be amazed at how many people clear out when it rains and you will walk onto rides!

We had an afternoon shower in early August and stayed out of it by going on Pirates of the Caribbean. Not only is the whole ride indoors, of course, but the line area is completely inside, and a fun place to be!

I'll speak to MGM as thats what I know best: Sounds Dangerous, Muppetvision, One Man's Dream, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Star Tours

Guaranteed seating, short(if no) waits and lots of A/C.

MK: Pirates of the Carribean, Haunted Mansion, It's a Small World, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Mickey's Philarmagic
Epcot: Innoventions, Journey into your imagination, Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, The American Adventure
MGM: Muppetvision:3-D, Rockin Rollercoaster, Star Tours, The Great Movie Ride, One Man's Dream
AK: Dinosaur....other than that there really is no escape from the rain or heat.

Also if it starts raining or gets really hot, this would be the best time to take a break and get something to eat. There are so many restaurants around the parks that it is nice to just sit down for a while and watch everyone else run through the rain. Ponchos are a great thing to have with you at all times. This way you can still enjoy some of the rides while everyone else is running for shelter. Sometimes the rains don't last that long so it might be the time you finish a meal or by the time you have waited and got on a ride. Either way there is always something to do in almost any weather.
