My 2 dds ages 5 & 8 are going to wdw with me & my mil in April. This is the 1st trip for us. What are the most popular must have souviners for kids? Also how much do you give your children to spend during your trip? We will be there 7 days.
Thanks! :)

Hi. We have 3 DD's(11,4,3) and they get a bracelet from Canada everytime we are in Epcot. They are really, really, nice and they burn the childs name on them. They also pick out a metal character that is attached to it. They are so nice that we always get some for friends. Very inexpensive to! My girls are not into the pin trading(although it looks like alot of fun). We make shirts and a sweatshirt for each girl before we leave. Instead of an autograph book they have the characters sign their shirts. I usually stamp them with a saying, such as, "I'm Emily and these are my new friends". Sounds kind of "weird" but we always get tons of comments on them and sometimes they include our daughters name in the signature. (One year Snow White wrote, "Emily is my friend, look at her pretty smile.)We never let our girls buy the first couple days, usually because by day 4 they've changed their minds a hundred times. Have a great trip. Janice

I'd go with Pins, as they can add them to their lanyard each trip, or you can now get Italian Charms with characters on it for charm bracelets. And of course, you can always go with the classic Embroidered Mickey Ears Hat.

I see the Italian Charms everywhere, but I was wondering if anywhere at WDW has regular charms? My DD8 & I both have old charm bracelets we would love to add the hanging charms!

Yes they have charm braclets and charms LOTS .We even picked up a Tink pic.frame that hangs charms from the bottom as well.

I even have a charm on my cell phone from there as well.

Thay are at DTD most resort stores and in the parks look for a square pyramid type table.

Thank you! We will be on the look out for charms! You guys always know all the answers!!

My DD11 & DS8 each get a few new Mickey & Minnie stuffed animals each trip. This past January DD11 got the Animal Kingdom Minnie & DS got the Mickey. They both love them.

Many people would say their homes are overrun with stuffed animals but ours really is not. We've gotten rid of almost all that are not Disney & we never buy new ones except in Disney!

They both love their lanyards & pins too!

Beach Towels - our kids love taking them to the pool - everyones envy :goodvibes

My kids really enjoyed doing the pressed pennies. It costs 51 cent each and they have them at most gift shops. You can also buy a book to put them in for around $6.

We also get a souviner popcorn bucket every trip.

Last trip I got my DD(3) a small pirate Mickey set with Pirates Mickey, Donald, and Goofy and boat for around $6 at the POT gift shop.

My oldest always wants a stuffed animal.

My son likes the Disney match box cars.

They also like the Mickey shaped pens and pencils and they have Pooh, Tigger, Pluto shaped ones and lost more.

My kids have got the a ove stuff too at one time or another.DS also likes the metal ride vehicles and monorail set,DD loves the disney underwear and socks. There is a 10. and less store at DTD and they have grab bags.My son liked everything in his bag. I think it was 5 ot 6.00

DD's favorite souvenirs are the refillable mug and the monorail magnet that plays the monorail spiel. :)

My DD6 loves the Potato Head Disney pieces, and also got the Pony box with clothes/bedroom furniture this last trip. We have had good luck buying random "cheap" pins online, then letting her trade them in the parks for ones she really wants.

We usually budget around $60 for her to spend on souvenirs while we are at the parks.

And if we are making multiple trips to one of the parks, we encourage her to "just look" the first day we are there, and then think about what she really wants, and then buy it the second day. Although, having stayed at POP twice, she has found most of the "must-haves" in their gift shop... princess:

My kids have gotten the most use out of baseball caps. (oh, and my daughter's princess dresses, but they are expensive and I don't think the "best" souvienier).

Vote again for the stuffed Mickeys, my DS8 gets one each time. We give him so much money per day to spend, he is thrifty and waits until the end of the trip to buy something. Allowing so much money per day keeps him more focused on things that he really wants, instead of wanting everything.

We don't usually have a set amount for each of them to use for souvenirs. What we do is let them shop for a little bit every day without buying anything. It is a great time killer before parades or while one parent has to take one of the kids to the restroom, etc. They know that on the last day, we will go back and purchase the one item that they chose over the course of our trip. For one son, it was a football with Mickey's glove printed on it, for the other it was a small stuffed Piglet. It took care of a lot of the "I wanna"s. Each time, we could ask, "Do you like it better than X from the other place?" They had as much fun shopping as they did playing with their new toys.

The one purchase that we have gotten the most use out of was a cheap plastic monorail bank that was filled with candy. I picked it up at the candy store in MK for about $5, not thinking that it would ever last. The kids love to put all their change in there to save for their next trip to visit Mickey. They've filled it several times and can't wait until next Feb when we go again!

My kids can't wait to get to the pick your own legos wall.
what does the mon. magnit do and how much is it?
How much is the footballs?

I'm not sure of the price on the football, but I think it was $11. I know that it was less than $15, since I couldn't believe I got off so cheap! This was in Sept 2004.

Hope that helps.

A.
