Best Snacks

Tigger Tail = Marshmallows coated in caramel dipped in orange colored chocolate/dip stuff drizzled to look like stripes with milk chocolate. A delicious goodness! You purchase them at Pooh Corner in Critter Country. They are on the most requested souvenier I get. Last year I purchased 8 of them at one time.

My son is looking forward to the delicious fruit stands the most. He loves the fresh fruit at Disneyland. We actually plan on buying some to take back to the hotel.

OK, I should know the answer to this, but I don't

Do they sell the gingerbread cookies with the chocolate-dipped Mickey Mouse ears year round or only in December?

This may sound strange, but I absolutely love the Chip 'n Dale Snack Co. honey roasted peanuts. I always have to get a couple bags each trip. I do the same thing at WDW too...well, maybe more than a couple bags there since it's a longer vacation. ;) I don't know what it is, but they're just the best honey roasted peanuts that I can't get anywhere else. Not too sweet, not too salty. I don't even care very much for the Planters brand. Too much salt.

Unfortunately, I was at DL last week and couldn't find my beloved peanuts...ANYWHERE! They had all of the other usual items; salted peanuts, cashews, mixed nuts, etc. but NO honey roasted! I'm hoping that it was just a fluke and they really haven't discontinued them. :sad1:

Well, you know, I assumed that they were only available for the "holiday season" (including November and January), because that seems like it would make sense, but then I noticed them in the Market House in October when I was there. So then I thought, okay, maybe they are sold from the Halloween season all through the holiday season. BUT I recall reading a post by another DIS-er who said she saw the cookies in DCA at some totally random time like August or something!!:scared1: As much as I would like to think of those yummy gingerbread men with Mickey ears being available only for the holidays (even if that includes Halloweentime too), I have a sneaking suspicion that they are sold at DLR year round!!! I don't think I would get the cookies at any other time of year - I want to think of them as being holiday-specific treats - but I guess it works out well for those folks who can't make a Halloween or holiday trip and want to try the cookies.

The only thing I wonder is if the cookies are found in as many locations all year long. I know that during the holidays you can find them in any of them candy stores or baked goods stores in DLR, and obviously, the Market House too. But, perhaps, maybe during the rest of the year they are not sold in all of those shops and can only be found in a few locations?

I wonder if they are considered a fall and winter treat? I will be on the lookout for them during my June vacation and let you all know for sure then.

You know, I'm almost postive I just saw the mickey gingerbread cookies in DCA a few weeks ago. I remember thinking it was odd since it's clearly not Christmas time. I think I saw them in that store at DCA that has the bakery stuff (cupcakes, etc) and they were in a basket on top of the display cabinet. I either saw them there or I was dreaming the whole thing. :rotfl:

I'd like to thank you all for causing me to put back on the 5lbs I worked so hard to lose! :lmao: I swear I'm gaining weight just reading about these yummy treats.

Seriously though, I can't wait to get to DL and have these snacks for real!

We just watched the planning DVD this afternoon and I have the "Disneys" VERY badly now!

Thanks to those with info about the Mickey gingerbread! I guess I'll find out soon enough if they're available year round; the reason I ask is that the one I meant to bring to my Mom after my December trip went missing...most likely, I left it in the hotel room when I checked out  .

Well, 8 pages and 1/2 a loaf of fresh banana bread later, and I think I'm ok reading about the sweets now! :rotfl: But now I want something salty!! I definitely prefer salt to sugar (probably something to do with my personality :cool1:) I've read about Bengal BBQ and the corn dogs but not much else salty. Anyone have any good salty snacks they LOVE?

A Chocolate Covered Banana ice cream is a must for me. And when in Critter Country, we have to stop at Pooh Corner to pick-up a sweet treat! I tried a Chimichanga from one of the carts for the first time in December and I was actually pleasantly suprised! That'll be on my list of things to eat next week! Yaaaay!!! :)

I like the frozen lemonades and pomme frittes from Cafe Orleans, for a snack. I'm not really into sweets, but on my next trip, I plan on buying the Tigger tail. I have to give it a try.
