Best Snacks for Disney Dining Plan

In August my family stayed at ASMu and we were able to use snack credits on biscuits and gravy, oatmeal/grits, chili cheese fries and yogurt parfaits. I think items under $4, look for the DDP logo or ask a cashier. :thumbsup2

Hello fellow Columbusian! I love the giant 3 scoop of ice cream with 2 big cookies ice cream sandwich that you can get at AK and MK.

The best snacks are the ones you want when you want them regardless if they are maximized or not. I wish people would concentrate more on enjoying their trips and not squeezing an extra quarter out of the snack credits!

it all depend on what park you are in and what you want:love: . it could be :drinking1:mickeybarpopcorn::

I think the OP is just having fun planning his trip using the DDP . . . and it's always fun to get a good value - no matter what. I don't understand why so many of you appear 'irritated' that he wants to maximize the value. I just don't post on a thread if I don't agree with it. :confused3

I think the #1 best use of a snack credit is the Pineapple Dole Whip float. :thumbsup2

When I went to WDW for my first trip last year, I didn't even know the dole whip existed! These are great threads for newbies that don't know what is available. This time, I am going to use my snack credits on more interesting things. Sometimes you just don't know what is available! I love these answers.

Ok, back to the question- our favorite snack is the hot fudge sundae with whatever tiopping you want at POP, after arriving back for the park at night.

:cool1::hippie:

Snack credits can be used to buy breakfast items rather than use CS on breakfast. Things like cinnamon rolls, yogurt parfaits, fruit salad, etc. These are great to buy at your resort's food court the night before and then have a quick breakfast in your room on an early park day.

Another good use is buying treats to take home as small gifts.

I may have to try that in December. Along with tye died cheesecake. But back to the op. Don't waste snack credits on soft drinks, water, pieces of fruit. Use that value, but get what you want. And I want a chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich from Main Street Bakery, a Butterfinger cheesecake from Sunshine Seasons, and ahot salty pretael from the area near the hat at DHS.

I agree with so many of you.

I never tried the Dole Whip before outr last trip in June and now it is a must have. Thanks to the Disers for expanding all of our snack knowledge.

We also used snack credits to get those HUGE cinnamon rolls from the Main Steet Bakery one evening to have for breakfast the next morning.

But my kids always think ice cream... the big Sundaes near Ariel's Grotto, the Itsakadoozies from the carts that my daughter still talks about, the Shaved Ice in Japan in Epcot that they found so refreshing.

In Animal Kingdom , my mother-in-law stumbled upon a cart that has a fresh fruit/cheese/cracker platter that was a snack credit. She was in heaven and didn't need lunch.

I can't wait to find out what everyone else likes to snack on and get some ideas for the next trip.:goodvibes

Thank you all for the replies. Did the DDP in January, and really didn't feel like a knew the best options for the snack credits. Some members of my party just ended up stocking up on bottled water at the end of the trip just because they didn't know what else to get with the credits.

I appreciate the great suggestions like cinnamon rolls, ice cream sundays, and the Dole Whips (YUM!). That's the kind of stuff I'm looking for. Plus I'm taking my parents this time, and it's the first time they'll be using the DDP. I'm really trying to make sure they're WOWed by it! :)

Do you remember where the cart was? My kids would love that.

I think the fruit/ cheese platter was at the Harambi Fruit Market near the Safari ride.

I love to use my snack credits on the honey roasted almonds on New York Street in MGM. I buy 3 or 4 with my snack credits and then just microwave them to heat them back up again. I think there is also a cart that sells
honey roasted nuts at Epcot near the entrance to World Showcase on the Mexico. Enjoy your trip!

Goofy's Candy Company in DTD. You can choose how to have them make your own chocolate covered pretzels, rice krispie Mickeys etc. :goodvibes

Sorry, the make-your-own snacks not allowed as a snack credit anymore - as of 8/16 or so. The Rice Krispie mickeys at Goofy's Candy co are now priced well over $4, and they are now charging per topping (cash) so what you used to get for a snack credit will now cost you about $8.00.

You can get 3 pretzel rods for a snack credit, but only the pre-dipped chocolate ones (no additional dips/drizzles/toppings)

there is a sticky at the top of the board listing all the snacks that folks have reported getting at all the locations

quite helpful to get an idea of the offerings

have a great time! :cool1:
