Hi, Im looking for recomendations for a new smart phone that doesnt cost an arm and a leg! My family uses tmobile, the only thing I really use the phone for is making calls (of course) and pics. I have the chance to buy my sisters old Iphone 4, which I already understand cause I already have a ipod 4.
I've looked on Ebay and was suprised at the high prices for the iphone 4.
(to me). I also look at the Samsung galaxy II and the Nokia 920 windows phone. They all kind looked the same to me:confused:. I want a phone that easy use, unlocks easily, won't hang up when my face touches the screen, easily turn on speaker phone. Also, takes good pics when I don't feel like lugging my big camera around, and nice screen to see pics my sis sends of the kids. Sorry so long I'm new to all this and very confused!!
Thanks for any help!
Christine:)

The reason the 4 is expensive is because it is unlocked meaning you can use it with any cell provider you want thus keeping the monthly charges down. I say go with the 4. I loved the picture quality on mine.

Seeing as OP already specified T-Mobile, iPhone is one of the worst options possible. Yes, you can use an unlocked iPhone on t-mobile, but you can't get 3G data, and t-mobiles Edge speeds are downright abysmal.

One question would be whether you're getting a phone on contract, or buying one outright, that will make a huge difference in price (and possibly your required service plan).

One good (but near impossible to get a hold of, for the moment) option may be the Nexus 4. Galaxy S3 is also a phenomenal phone, but a bit pricey.

Tmobile doesn't support Iphone, so it's quite possible that even if you got an unlocked one you would have very poor performance.

I have Tmobile. I have the Samsung Galaxy SIII, which I love. It has a good camera, but it is far from a basic phone, and may be a little more money than you want to spend.

I have the Samsung Galaxy SII from T-mobile which I absolutely love! You should be able to get it for a relatively good price since the III has come out.
