List your best single and solo parent vacation ideas! Disney vacations (parks, cruises, and likely ABDs) are always great vacations as a single parent. There's so much to keep all of you busy. What are some other vacations are fun and entertaining for parents traveling with just their kids?

Its just myself and my DS 16, I am so looking forward to just some ÙS time

No worrying about work or school, ex girlfriends lol, we just have fun til we puke (literally sometimes) :thumbsup2

soooooooooooooooooo looking forward to it! :goodvibes

Amtrak Sunset limited and Coastliner in California are great. Beautiful scenery plus someone else is "driving" so with younger kids you can enjoy the trip with them.

My kids are teens now and so when we did a train trip last year they spent the entire time heads bent down on their cellphones. Oh well, I still got to enjoy the scenery ddidn't have to drive.

My son is 7. He'd have a hard time being entertained by scenery on a long train ride. How old were your kids when they enjoyed it? After you got off the train how did you get to your destination? Cab?

The girls were 7 and 9. I was surprised how entertained they were, but we also had brought games/food, you can get up and walk around.

One of the things I did the amuse them was bought them each cheap cameras and did a picture scavenger hunt from the train of things we were passing.

I had family in the area and they met us at the train station.

Ah girls! That explains it. Haha! My boy is way too active I think to enjoy that for more than an hour. Sounds relaxing though. One day I'll try it.
