What are the best single dollar purchases you have ever gotten? The cheap buys that lasted forever that you use most..

Almost 20 yrs ago I bought a 1.00 detangling comb that hangs on shower head I used it daily until this spring when I cut off all my long hair. It is still used on DD an gson when they shower here.

2 years ago Walmart had an after Christmas sale : Littlest Pet Shop Advent calendars and My Little Pony Advent calendars for $1- i bought 10 total so technically I spent $10.80 with tax. I used these for several birthday party gifts that fall- the kids thought they were so cool! I also gave them to my 3 nieces and dd got 1 of each.

I don't know if it counts but I bought an app called cupcakes for my itouch. You can make cupcakes and choose the liners, batter, frosting, and toppings. When I am watching my two year old niece it can her entertained for hours. I know it will come in handy when we are on the plane going to Disneyland.

When I graduated from college in 1993 my mom bought me a $1 knife at the Dollar Store. I'm still using it to this day. She actually bought me 2 but one broke. The other is still being used. It's a last resort knife now since I have a nice set but it still works well.

Mine was for $1.60. When I was pregnant with DD a shoe store was moving locations and had five pairs of baby walking Stride Rite shoes for 2.00 each. I had a loyal customer discount of 20%, so I paid less than 10.00 for five pairs of Stride Rites including tax. Talk about being in the right place at the right time!
