I want to surprise my husband with a really nice meal one night when we are in Disney. We are on the dining plan and was wanting opinions on which one is the best? We have never done a signature place before. Thanks for all your help ahead of time!!! :) We are in our mid twenties if that helps!

steak, seafood?

sushi, American, french?

the sig. restaurants are all pretty darned good, some better in some areas than others.

Yachtsman Steakhouse is my DH's favorite. He also really likes Le Cellier and Narcoossee's.

We both are pretty adventurous. My husband is more of a steak guy and I love seafood. So pretty good mixture of everything!

The Flying Fish or the Yachtsmen Steakhouse. Also, you could try Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge.

Our favorites in no order- Jiko at AKL, Artists Pointe at WL and Citricos at GF.
Of course Victoria and Alberts is hard to beat for quality/service and special atmosphere but it does cost a bit more (probably could dine at any 2 or possibly all above for price of V&A's)
We have had average meals/experiences at Narcossees and less than stellar at Yachtsmans. My opinion is that all Boardwalk restaurants are good for casual dining but not special occasion.
Hope this helps, of course it is only opinions.

Our top 2 would be Flying Fish and Jiko. The second pair would be Ca Grill and Citricos. The bottom pair would be Artist Point and Narcoosees (do not like atmosphere at Artist Point and the fish/seafood at Narcoosees is not as good as Flying Fish).

You will get many varied responses. When we are choosing we have a look at the menus on allears and figure out what sounds best to us from there. Really they are all good. The only one I personally do not think is worth the 2 points is Hollywood Brown Derby.

My recommendation though is Narcossess for steak and lobster. YUMMMM!!!

Another vote for Jiko here. The wine list and the filet are a win-win for us!

I'll agree, FF, Jiko, Cali Grille and Citricos would be top picks.

We tried Jiko, California Grill and Narcoossee's. My favorite was Narcoossee's (whole lobster too die for!) followed by Jiko!!. My husband's favorite was the California Grill. But they were all really delicious. The quality of the food was much better than the regular restaurants.

Another vote for Jiko here. They have great selection of wine, and the food is very good.

My wife and I really enjoy California Grill the most of all of the "Signature" restaurants at Disney. The Flying Fish Cafe is a close second. We're going back to both in a couple of weeks and are very much looking forward to it.

I think that Hollywood Brown Derby is underrated on this board. I've seen a lot of folks knock it as the worst of the Signature restaurants and not worth the two dining plan credits. I can't really speak with regard to the dining credits because we never use the dining plan. However, it is one of the only Signature restaurants located in one of the theme parks, and I think it offers an excellent setting with great food. It is not, however, a place I would go for a romantic, special dinner. It's just a good place to eat.

For your purposes, you can't lose with California Grill.

I agree. Though the Brown Derby is not my favorite of the signature restaurants I've eaten at (that award goes to Citricos!), we thoroughly enjoyed our meal there. The food was very good, the service was among the best we've had on property, and for a restaurant inside a theme park, the decor and ambiance is top notch. But we've never eaten on the dining plan either so I don't judge things based on what's worth two credits and what isn't. I just know places I've enjoyed enough to recommend and/or return to, and the HBD makes that list!
