We are planning our next Disney vacation for January 11-16, 2011. Orginally, we were going to arrive late on the evening of January 11 (my birthday!) - so I made dining reservations for 12th-16th, thinking dinner on the 11th would be on the road. However, we will now be leaving early in the AM and should arrive to WDW around 3PM. I am so excited to have a birthday dinner on Disney property! :cool1:

In our three trips to Disney, we have yet to try one of the Signature restaurants. DD was 3, 4 and 5 on our last three trips, and we decided not to use two credits for a meal that we may not fully appreciate while dining with our busy little girl! :)

This year, she will be 6 (almost 7) and is certainly capable of sitting through a nice dinner. And since it's my birthday - I'm thinking we may give it a try!:woohoo:

So........which Signature offers the best birthday experience and would be most enjoyable for a 6 year old girl??? I have looked at the menus, and while I have heard good reviews about Jiko and Artist Point - these menus seem less appealing to me(but I have not ruled them out). Any suggestions are appreciated! Plan B would be to skip the Signature and try LeCellier for the first time.

THANKS!!!!

I have to say that Narcoossee's did a fantastic job making everyone in our party feel special during our dinner there last Thursday. We went with my DH's family and were celebrating his mom's birthday, his dad's birthday, and our 1st anniversary. Even though his sister wasn't celebrating something specific, our server made sure she didn't feel left out. And, of course, we got the personalized menus and special dessert presentations.

I think your daughter would enjoy the view from Narcoossee's, especially if you time it so that you are there during the electrical water pageant. :wizard:

I second Narcoossees, they have always made a big deal of bdays and anniversary dinners when we have been there!

We did our 10th anni. at Narcoossees last April, had personalized menus and a window view so when we started with our cake Wishes had just started. Our waiter was great and did make us feel special. The only problem was my wife didn't like what she choose as an entree so please read the menu carefully as it does change from season to season.I would also vote for California Grill as we have always had a great meal there and the view for Wishes is unforgettable. It might be difficult to get a window seat for dinner but you can go out on the walkway and watch it........:woohoo:

1) All of them.
2) None of them.
3) Some of them.
4) It simply depends upon
. . . how busy the are
. . . the energy of the waiter/waitress
. . . the willingness of the waiter/waitress
5) Expect little, and be pleasantly surprised when you get more.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with Narcoossee's and California Grill! :goodvibes Both sound wonderful! I do think a water or MK view would be an added bonus for a birthday celebration. Decisions, decisions! :)

Never been to Narcossee's, but California Grill is excellent. We went for my husband's birthday last year. My risotto appetizer was the best thing I have ever eaten in my life. Steaks, fresh fish, sushi-- they have it all, and it is all so good. From the top of the Contemporary, the view of the Magic Kingdom is second-to-none (how exciting for your child!). Also, if you eat dinner there, you are entitled to watch the MK fireworks from the catwalks atop the Contemporary-- the best seat in the whole resort.
