Anybody have anything on their favorite Signature for a special dinner? Mostly asking about the service and how they take care of you?TIA

V&A. Service at all the other sigs can be spotty (save Shula's). That said, some of the best service we've received has been at CG and the Flying Fish. For a more romantic setting than it typical at WDW, I would suggest considering Artist Point.

I would suggest Citrico. The service was very good, the food excellent and it's actually one of the few signatures that are kind of quiet.

You are going to get good and bad service at almost all the restaurants except V&A. It's just the nature of the beast. We have always had pretty consistent service and food at Tiffins but I'm sure there have been other's who have had bad. Some of our worst service has been at some of the highly rated places like Chef Paul, Jikos and Flying Fish but the food was o.k. at all of them and I'm sure we had a bad server who was having a bad night.

I'm talking about the "extras" that any staff has done once they know it's your anniversary.....complimentary champagne....special dessert etc??

That's hit or miss in all restaurants. I wouldn't base my dining choice on a "maybe" freebie.

Any extras they do are just luck of the draw, what they do for one couple might not get done for another. Sorry, it's not standard for any of the restaurants.

We really liked Monsieur Paul in Epcot. It was really quiet and peaceful and the service and food were excellent.

We went to Narcoossee's for our anniversary. The waiter brought champagne pretty much with the bill. I *think* the dessert had a Happy Anniversary thing on it. The service was kind of subpar the whole meal. (The service was more what I would describe as average for a non-signature meal)
We had ordered two cocktails, two wine flights, two appetizers, two entrees, and one dessert.
Honestly, it would have made more sense to comp something we already had OR just to give us good service than to give us free champagne.

The only place that acknowledged our anniversary on a recent 10 night trip with 3 signature meals was Sanaa- which isn’t a signature.

Like others have said, any acknowledgement is hit or miss and at the discretion of the server. I would go into it not expecting anything and if something does happen it’s a nice bonus.

We got GREAT service at Monsieur Paul and Victoria & Albert's.

We also extremely love Artist Point and have always had outstanding food and service there.

That was just an example.....basically wanted stories of things they did "over the top" to celebrate....wasn't looking just for the freebie.

TBH, celebrations of all sorts are just commonplace at WDW. We'll be celebrating our 20th there in Sept. At a "normal" sig, I'm not sure they could keep up with trying to go all out with so many. A place like V&A already allocates the kind of service and attention which would lend itself to that sort of thing, however.

None of the signature do anything over the top. The best you could do would be to order a custom cake or something from Disney Floral & Gifts to be delivered to the restaurant. You can, of course, note the anniversary on your reservation, but it doesn't guarantee they will do anything. When we ate at Cali Grill (which I recommend!) for my birthday, one year, they did decorate the table with confetti and write "happy birthday" on my dessert, but, again, there is no guarantee they would do that.

I think your best bet is to either go to V&A where you are pretty much guaranteed some of the best service you will ever experience or order something special to be delivered to the restaurant you choose for your anniversary.

We have spent a couple anniversaries, including our 10th, and many birthdays at WDW. Lovely extras haven’t been frequent: Mickey confetti at California Grill , a champagne toast (once at Brown Derby), lots of happy anniversary or birthday chocolate plaques (on not free desserts), cupcakes at non signatures, free dessert (Chefs and Narcoossee's).

We are celebrating our 20th in September and my husband chose Monsieur Paul for our actual anniversary. I am ordering a cake for our room and noting our celebration on our reservations, but anything is pixie dust.

As others have mentioned, there is never a guarantee of anything special unless you pay for it. For example, one year on our anniversary, my wife contacted Disney and had a small cake arranged to be brought to the table for dessert--unknown to me. We've had confetti; we've had comp glasses of champagne; we've had the exec chef come out to our table; we've had special desserts. We've also had times when it was just a "congratulations" and nothing else. As for which restaurant aside from any extras, all the Signatures have their proponents and opponents. CA Grill is a worthy choice; however, it's quite noisy there at dinner--more of a lively party atmosphere than romantic. Obviously, they have great views of the fireworks and piped in music. (Ed. note: Their Sunday brunch is superb and is quieter, calmer, and more likely to receive individualized attention.) Jiko has topnotch food and service, but it has no views of anything in particular. Artist Point is romantic and has some of the best ambiance of any Signature--they've always treated us very well for our celebrations. HOWEVER, the last day they're currently taking reservations is 28 October, and they've not said what they'll be doing there after that date. The hottest rumor is a character meal coming in, though hopefully not for dinner. All of this to say, look at the menus and decide which looks best to you. I will say that in my long experience, aside from Tiffins, the most likelihood of being disappointed in a Signature meal comes with those located in a park. Park Signatures are akin to a more expensive TS.

You said BEST :)

V&A. Party of two is going to run you about $750. V&A is rated as the #2 Restaurant in the United States:).
My dear wife and I are booked there in NOV 2018. It will be our 7th visit.

NO DDP, NO TIW... and worth every penny :). Bring serious dress clothing.... :).

Nicely put!!!!.....................IT IS THE BEST ON PROPERTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In 2016 we did our anniversary dinner at Cali Grill and it was amazing. Seat right by the window and the waitress made sure we were setup for Wishes. If you book about 7ish the timing is perfect. Service was fantastic, food and wine were great. You don't need to go outside for HEA as they dim the lights and pipe the sound track into the restaurant.

Back story: My wife had never been to WDW (kid doesn't like theme parks). We had 2 college football games in Florida on back to back weekends, FIU then UCF, so I booked WDW for the week in between. We arrived on Sunday and dinner at CG was my wife's first real introduction to WDW. She still talks about that dinner. This year we will be making our 3rd trip (and she's talking about AP's) in between games again.

If you can afford it, V&A. Nothing else is even close.
Otherwise, I would pick California Grill, Jiko or Monsieur Paul.
If you like Italian, Il Mulino at the Swan is another good choice.
We have had good meals at Citricos and Narcoossees, but nothing outstanding or memerable.
