Best Shows... must sees and what to pass on?

Festival at the Lion King and Nemo at Animal Kingdom....loved both!

I was going to post the same exact thing!!

I would also say don't miss the 3-d movies. Philharmagic at MK and the Muppets at the Studios are good for any ages. HISTA at Epcot and Bugs Life at AK are a little bit scary for younger kids. I really enjoyed all four of them!

I tried to use this link but it turns out that whomever he was using to get all the scheduled times of everything is no longer working at Disney so I can't get the information from there. So if anyone of you may know another way I can get this info I'd appreciate it!

That information is months out-of-date.

What is FOTLK?

Festival of the Lion King

Here are my must sees...

AK - Festival of the Lion King
MK - Wishes
HS - Fantasmic, Voyage of the Little Mermaid
EP - nothing really :confused3

We haven't seen Lights, Motor, Action or Nemo the Musical so they're on our must sees for our next trip. :) If I had to pick only one to see, it would hands down be Festival of the Lion King (with Wishes being a close second). As some else mentioned, don't miss Philharmagic at MK. It's not a "show" in the same sense of the others but defintely do it.

I'm not sure if you do or do not want to be spoiled on any of these, but search youtube. It'll give you an idea of what some of these shows are. Don't worry though, nothing can beat the real thing though.

As you can see, this is a tough question. It totally depends what you prefer. We are not big fans of Illuminations or Fantastmic, while others list them as a don't miss. We won't ever see Lights, Motor, Action again, but some really love it. Every show is done to professonal standards, so they are all worth a look. We think the best shows on property are at AK, with the Lion King, Nemo, and Flights of Wonder. Unless you have a little one, skip Pochantas.

Hopefully you will be returning in time and can catch the shows you miss this time. It takes a few trips to see all of them, but well worth it.

Thanks I got it this time!

The last time I was there we didn't see much and honestly this may be the last time I ever get to visit the mouse so hopefully I get to make everything possible of it! 6 more days!

Returned from late April trip and we LOVED the Finding Nemo show in AK. It was our first time to see that show. Didn't see it this time but have seen it many times and it is great- Lion King in AK.

Spectro parade and Wishes. Love Mickey's Philharmagic in MK, too.

For us...

Must See/Do:
Lion King
Nemo
Turtle Talk with Crush
Spectro
Wishes

BTDT, no need to go back:
Little Mermaid
Pocahantas (way too preachy)
Flights of Wonder (never in my life have I seen so many people get up and walk out of a show)

On our list to try for this trip:
Fantasmic - don't know how we never got there before :confused3
new Block Party Bash parade
new Playhouse Disney show

In Magic Kingdom, I LOVED SpectroMagic and was too sick during Wishes to watch it, but I've seen it on youtube and am really sad I missed it. The afternoon parade is just ehh.
In Epcot, we liked IllumiNations and the music is really good.
At the Studios, Beauty and the Beast was Fantastic as was Fantasmic! I didn't see Light, Motors Action or Indy, but if I had my pick I'd go with Indy.
At AK my mom saw Nemo and Flights and liked them both a lot.

Okay for those of you who have been to WDW lately what shows such as Fantasmic, Indiana Jones, etc... would you recommend seeing and which ones are just so/so?
I do not think of parades and fireworks as "shows," so they are not on my list of favorite shows, even tho I like to watch them.
Having said that, which shows do I feel are the best? Easy ...

Magic Kingdom: Country Bear Jamboree and Mickey's PhilharMagic.

Animal Kingdom: Finding Nemo - The Musical, Festival of the Lion King and Flights of Wonder.

Epcot: Honey, I Shrunk the Audience and The American Adventure.

Studios: Beauty and the Beast and Indiana Jones.

Why? Because I enjoy these the most. If I had to pick the very best of the above, I'd say Beauty and the Beast at the Studios, followed by Finding Nemo - The Musical at the Animal Kingdom.

But you know, this is all subjective. To each his own.

In any case, enjoy what you do see. It's all good.

Must sees:

AK

Flights of Wonder
Festival of the Lion King
Finding Nemo

DS

Beauty and the Beast
Lights Motor Action
Indiana Jones
note--I consider attractions that run continuously to not be listed here.

Take or leave:

Pocahontas
Playhouse Disney
ALL parades
ALL fireworks shows

The Little Mermaid show is pretty good at the Studios. They make it rain on the audience and everything. :thumbsup2

For a first timer:
MK: Spectromagic, Wishes

Epcot: Illuminations

DHS: Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, Lights, Motor, Action, Beauty and the Beast, Fantasmic

AK: Festival of the Lion King

My must sees:
Festival of the Lion King, LMA

Hope to see, but I'm not too upset if I miss:
Indiana Jones, Flights of Wonder, Spectro, Fantasmic

My opinions:
Magic Kingdom: Spectromagic,
AK: Festival of the Lion King
HS: Beauty and the Beast
Epcot: British Invasion (I have not seen Illuminations yet)

My DH opinion"
MK: Carousel of Progress
AK: Festival of the lion king
HS: Lights Motor Action AStunts Show
EP: acrobatic show

DD who was 6 at the time:
MK: Philarmagic
AK: Pocohantas and Friends
HS: Beauty and the Beast
EP: Turtle Talk with Crush

DS who was 3 at the time:
MK: Wishes
AK: Finding Nemo
HS: Playhouse disney Live
Ep: Turtle Talk

At AK, I loved FotLK, skipped Nemo (I didn't like the movie - thought it was dull), and walked out of Flights of Wonder (not b/c of the birds - I would have loved to stay for them - but the horrible overly "fabulous" actor who thought he was a cross between "JustJack" from Will & Grace and Nathan Lane in the Birdcage, he just GRATED on my nerves).

At DHS, I love Indy and Muppets; LMA was OK but not a can't miss. I saw B&tB years ago and liked it but never went back, and TLM was OK but I never went back. One Man's Dream was great.

At Epcot, I really like the fireworks from Illuminations, but the bizniz on the globe is just meh.

At MK, I always skip the parades (haven't watched one since the Main Street Electrical Parade was killed and replaced), but I like the fireworks spectaculars.

We have never waited in line for Fantasmic. We are definitely doing it this year. I have had quite a lot of people tell me not to miss it.
