Doing a 2 day solo trip March. First timer. What are the not-to-miss shows at both parks? Especially for an adult. I don't usually do a ton of shows. But at WDW I can't miss carousel of progress, one mans dream, and hall of presidents. I'd like to see it's tough to be a bug because I've never seen it before. Thanks!

Aladdin at DCA is amazing and we see it every time..do not miss it.

DH and I love Mickey and the Magical Map in DL near Toontown Depot.

If you are into Frozen ( like me..DH says I need an intervention lol) check out the Fantasy Faire theater in DL. We have only seen the Tangled show but it was awesome and it's only Frozen now , which has a FP option too.

Definitely Aladdin--like something you would see on Broadway! Great singing, dancing and jokes. I enjoyed as much or more than DGD6.

We also liked Frozen at the Royal Theater and the Frozen sing along in DCA was goid too, if you are into Frozen.

:dance3:

Is the Aladdin show location easy to find and do you need a ticket for entry?

Super easy to find - it's at Hyperion Theater in DCA . Once you reach the end of Buena Vista street you want to take a left and at the end you will see a big theater and the entrance is right there around the corner.

NO special ticket needed ! Any section is good but suggest Mezzanine ( upper level) for first time so you can get a good view of the flying carpet scene. The queue line up area opens about 30-40 minutes before showtimes and you can eat and drink while in line just not inside.

Great,thanks for that

Can you take photos of the show?

One of the best shows that I have seen so far, is when a cranky old man with a cane tried to hit someone on the head. It was a some what hot day. And the bathrooms near the Matterhorn were roped off, because of a soon to be seen parade. It was not a happy moment. Anyway, don't worry though, he was pretty old, so he probably won't be a problem anymore.
Then there is the show where a lady really did do her impersonation of the great Gypsy Rose Lee, sans the very large feathery fans. This was at NOS. Hot day plus cranky lady plus clothing that doesn't breath, equals an awesome floor show. Hey, what can I say? Anyway, before security was able to come on over to throw a coat over her, or a net, or both, like lightning she took off, somewhere near critter country. That had to have been a bit painful if you ask me. Pine trees, splinters, dirt, rocks, twigs and ? So not conducive to being bare. Not to mention, on a hot day, without proper sunblock, she might have ended up with a rather odd assortment of sun parched skin. Probably ended up looking like some kind of abstract piece of artwork. Never did see her again, thank goodness. After all, it is suppose to be a G rated park!
Then there was the small show, where a tot was attempting to dress some of the ducks near ROA, with his Donald Duck costume. It was not going over very well with the real ducks. Fortunately, the ducks flew off. Unfortunately, the tot, I believe his name was William, and he and his family are from Denmark. Anyway, the tot started balling his little head off. So his parents bought him a Mickey Bar, that did the trick........ until..........he dropped his ice cream..... so the crying continued. Oh well!
I have other stories. Just let me know if you would like to read about them. :faint:

Great,thanks for that

Can you take photos of the show?

You can but since it is live actors make sure flash is off at all times. They will remind you as well bu yes you can take photos. I just hope people soon realize an ipad is not a replacement for a camera..:rotfl2:

Oh and then there is The Enchanted Tiki Room. But that is for the birds man. ;) lol
Just don't sit too closely under the birds, because they really do like to snack a lot. Or is that alot. The jury still seems to be out on that. Whatever, anyway, man..... I love this show. And yes, I do wear a hat! lol

Gisele, you crack me up! Thanks for often making me laugh!

The show they have at the Golden Horseshoe Cafe in Disneyland where the guy tries to find somebody from the crowd to marry his daughter is pretty funny. It only last about 20 minutes so you are in and out pretty fast.

As others have said, Aladdin is a very good show. I'm on the fence about Mickey and Magical Map, but I know some folks that really enjoyed it. However, both of these are live action performances, rather than an attraction. I mention this because the examples you gave were really all attractions not shows per se. So things like Aladdin and Mickey and Magical Map are more like Beauty and the Beast at DHS. Are you looking for performance shows or attraction shows?

Like the others here, I highly recommend Aladdin at California Adventure. I also enjoy Mickey & the Magical Map, but do not consider it a must do if you are enjoying other things at the Land.
