Hi Guys

We are staying at the Wilderness lodge and decided not to get a car ....dont want to do much shopping but maybe a day at one of the outlets...any recommendations and anyone know if it is a taxi job from the wildernes or if they have any shuttles.

Thanks

They will book you a taxi anywhere from any of the hotels. The interior buses only go to Disney locations.

Orlando Premium Outlets on Vineland Avenue would probably be your best bet for an outlet, it is also quite near to WDW if you are going by taxi.

As pp said, there will be no shuttle from WL, you will have to take a taxi. Although it may be possible to get a Lynx bus from the TTC that will get you there but I don't have no experience of this :)

You can pick up a free shuttle to the LBV factory outlets from the hotels at DTD but its not very good there. Or catch the 50 lynx from TTC to SeaWorld (ask for a transfer to you don't have to pay twice) then the number 42 lynx from there. The 42 will take you to either Premium outlet depending on which side of the road you pick it up from. Cross over the road for Vineland and stay on the same side for Int'l drive. :goodvibes

edited....Strangely, although the Int'l drive outlet is way bigger I much prefer the Vineland Road one because it just flows better.

I called Mears asking about Disney-Universal shuttles and found out they also do Disney-International Drive outlets and Disney-Florida Mall on Sundays/Thursdays for US$20 return.

(Sadly for me neither days will work so am planning to just take a taxi from a Disney hotel to the Vineland outlets for shopping!)

DD wants to go to Mall at Millenia but won't have a car, does anyone know how much a taxi would be from Caribbean Beach ?

Tony

taxi fare calculators estimate it to $52 each way (including a 10% tip)

you can save a few bucks by taking the bus to DTD marketplace. A taxi from there will be around $46 each way.

those are estimates, fares will go up if there's heavy traffic (up to $70 for the CBR to Millenia Mall
and it will also depend where you get picked up at CBR which is a huge resort. Being picked up at trinidad south (if possible at all) will add a few dollars to the fare as compared to being picked up at Custom House. That's why I included the DTD option.

Be careful if you ask for a Mears shuttle to Florida Mall as the times we have used this service they drop you off well before the stores open on a Sunday! Personally I would just catch the Lynx for a couple of $'s to the outlets as its really quite quick if you time the bus correctly. Remember you will also have to tip on that $20 per person return.:)

Last time we were there the Lake Buena Vista Outlet mall was better value than the Premium outlets. It is slightly smaller, and slightly further away so check the store directory on both to make sure they have the shops you want to visit.

We generally catch the 50 opposite DTD get off SW and catch the 42 to I/drive. when done there catch the 42 all the way to Vineland outlet then catch a taxi back to resort once finished shopping.Saves carting all the bags back on the buses and not too expensive as you are as close to the resort as you can get. To make it a little cheaper just get taxi to DTD and catch bus back to resort. Remember to grad a day rider if you plan to do this it is cheaper than 2 fares.

It's not slightly its massively smaller..:rotfl: I must admit though we do go there if we have time because there are a couple of stores that we like to look in...but I certainly wouldn't go there instead of the Premium Outlets.:)

Taxis are ridiculously expensive and the local buses are rubbish and Disney don't make it easy to leave! (Not a bad thing ;-)) Would it be possible for you to rent a car for a day? Alamo have a couple of locations at WDW. It would probably be the cheapest and most convenient option.

Thanks for the heads up on this - was actually thinking of moving my Universal day from Sunday so I could do the shuttle on Sunday!

But have now changed my hotels around so staying one night in Universal - so will probably just take a taxi from Universal to Mall at Millenia instead (looks fairly close?)

We have never had a problem with the buses. In fact quite the reverse, they are excellent. The only problem arises with certain destinations because of the amt of time or transfers needed. Universal and Mall of Millenia are the ones that are not good if you are staying on property. Everything else is very easy, very quick (in bus terms obviously) and very cheap. :)
They are also very easy to pick up from Disney, not hard at all.
