I need advice as to the best shoes to wear during our trip to WDW at the end of June---are sneakers good? or are they too hot? What about Crocs?

Thanks so much for ANY ideas!!!:goodvibes

It depends... my 2 DDs LOVED their crocs, didn't wear anything else the whole time we were their, except when in princess dresses... OTOH, I got a blister with my crocs and ended up wearing my favorite flip flops, leather Timberlands, and was 100% comfortable, the you have my DH who alternated between sneakers and flip flops.

My only trip to WDW was in June a few years ago. We're going again this June. Last time, I brought both Teva sandals and tennis shoes. I only ended up wearing the Tevas because they were so comfortable. They are good quality walking sandals with good arch support. I still have the same pair and plan to wear them again this summer. I bought them at zappos.com (which has free shipping and (I believe) free return shipping if you return them).

Well for the last 3 year all my girls' have worn on their feet is their Crocs, and my DH and i all we wear are our Crocs Flip flops (we both have both kinds :) )
WE have never had any problems (but i also get into my Flip flop as soon as it is wam enough and dont wear much else on my feet until it gets too cold..lol)

For all the walking, I go with sneakers. But I don't have these fabulous Crocs that everyone talks about. I really think I'm missing out!!!

I always bring my Tevas. I can't say enough good things about them. I also bring a pair of Keens. They are like Tevas but more stylish and are very comfortable also.

I bought all the extra sandals before I went and they all ended up hurting. I say whatever you bring, make sure they are broke in!

That being said, what worked for me was to wear sneakers when we went in the morning, which was a fast pace all day. Then, in the evening, I switched to flip flops. Evenings were much more leisurely for us.

My 4 year old girls wear cayman crocs and love them. I wear either mary jane crocs or else Born sandals. We went to WDW last June and my opinion is that it's too hot for sneakers, but I do see many people wearing them.

We went in October and DD switched between her NIKE sandals (they were the ones that dry fast) and her tennis shoes.

I switched between my Croc MaryJanes, Croc Capris, and running shoes. DH wore his same pair of running shoes all week.

None of us got any blisters. I say bring two-three comfy pair of broken in shoes and switch off. Some days I would wear different shoes in the AM than the PM. But I also get blisters easily.

Also, to avoid blisters you can use some Body Glide on your feet and toes. It comes in a tube that looks like deodorant. Runners and hikers use it a lot to prevent blisters and "chub rub." Its good stuff.

We wore our Croc flip-flops (Athens) They were sooooo comfy!!! DH and I are not tiny people and did not have a problem. We did wear our sneakers one night (it was chilly) Our feet were killing us. We love the Athens crocs!!!!! I was so bummed when I had to wear shoes again when we came home. Need to go back soon.:yay:

I always bring 2 pairs of sneakers and rotate them. We usually go late May or Early June and the sneakers aren't too hot at all. I don't see how people do all that walking in flip flops. My legs and feet would kill me

We had Tevas and Crocs for our 3 and 6 y.o., which were fine because they rode in strollers a lot. They still ended up wearing socks with them often because of rubbing. Next time they'll have a good pair of sneakers each, plus a pair of walking sandals. When we go, the only shoe I want to wear in a park is my comfiest sneakers. I do bring sandals for wearing at the hotel and sometimes at night, but for park touring it's sneakers all the way.

I wore my crocs flip flops last year. My feet were fine through several days of running through parks. My husband wore regular crocs and did end up with a blister after several days.

Do you need closed toe shoes for on rides? Over here most theme parks insist on shoes with a closed toe (no flipflops or sandals) for on the rides- is this not the case in WDW?

Thanks!

My girls have always worn Stride Rite sandals (of course that was before they started LIVING in crocs). I'd think in June that sandals would be cooler, but we'll see what they want when we go in June... For me, I like to wear a comfortable pair of leather flip-flop sandals.
