So I've only had my reeboks for about a year and thought I was set on shoes. Just started my training for Disney today (3 miles everyday before we leave.) And the ball of my feet on both sides went numb about 2 miles in, they are super sore and feel like blisters will be coming.

So, maybe these shoes have had it? Ugh. I think I've heard people on the boards talking about these but didn't pay much attention since I thought I had shoes.

What is your favorite tennis shoes? Has to be tennis shoes. I have bad arches so I can't walk around in sandals or toms or anything like that.

MODS- I did not mean to post this to restaurants. Please move if you see it.

I bought a couple of pairs...they are great on my feet...but I'm not sure why, but they are making my lower back sore...using different muscles? Or just coincidence and it is something else that caused it? Not sure...I'm going to keep wearing them to see if it gets better over time.

Ewww... that is not good. I already have back issues.

I bought them bc my nikes have had it and I have poor feet as well as bad ankles. They have absolutely no support for my ankles. They are very comfy but have no support and are very flimsy. My only saving grace is I will be renting an ecv at disney due to the fact of my bad ankles so my shoes aren't really an issue. I will say though I still wear my nikes bc I work with horses and with all the uneven ground at the farm I would prolly kill myself in the sketchers memory foam. I am hoping to replace my nikes at xmas. Hopping something goes on sale :)

I don't know if you are just walking at a regular pace for those 3 miles or what but you have to remember this is different than the stop and go of a vacation.

If you plan to continue what is essentially an exercise routine you should definitely get professionally fitted, just like runners do, for the right walking shoe for your foot. Ensuring comfort at the most strenuous level of exercise will ensure comfort on the stop and go of vacation.

When you have problem feet, it's an absolute must!

I used to get my shoes (and I wear tennis/walking shoes 97% of the time) at Kohls or a sporting goods store, or anything else just "off the shelf". I did always get Nike though.

I started having problems with my feet hurting by the end of the day. I got tired of that and want to an actual running store (geared toward runners). They introduced me to another pair of Nike that made me feel like I was walking on air. The shoes last me a little over a year and I've just gotten my second replacement pair.

So my suggestion is to go to a running store and get some professional advice. My feet haven't hurt in years now.

A year is a long time for athletic shoes. Most distance runners only put about 500 miles on shoes and replace every 3-6 months. I prefer Asic shoes but I'd go to a real running shoe store, not Footlocker or anything like that, and get fit for shoes that match your stride and wear pattern.

I bought these shoes especially for our disney trip. I wanted to break them in before we go so i started wearing them to work. I cant switch back to my old shoes i LOVE them! They are so comfy!

I bought a pair of the Memory Foam. Skechers a couple of months before my trip. I tried, but was not vey good at, breaking them in before we left. Turns out, I didn't really need to. My feet did get sore by the end of the day (beginning about day 3), but were fine each morning and no shin splints (which I always have gotten at Disney).

I was walking at 3.5 mph. A nice brisk walk but no running. I have bad knees. I'm really used to my treadmill and this isn't usual the ball of foot thing. I've even done a half marathon on my treadmill before. Took me a long time but I did it! I have a harder time with my knees walking outside (GA - lots of incline.) So I do it all on my my treadmill.

Anyway, never had these issues before with these shoes so I was just wondering if it was time for new ones. I know when I got these (they are the lighter running shoe) they told me they don't really last as long as people think they should. 6 months to a year.

Anyone have a running store they recommend? I have bad arches, bad back, a pelvic issue and osteoarthritis (I'm only 39.) So yeah, good shoes are probably a good idea. LOL!!

Maybe you just need new insoles. I have a pair of shoes that I just use indoors on an eliptical, the shoe is good but I replace the insoles about once a year. A running store would be able to tell you what type of insoles to get.

My podiatrist was very specific about which sneaker is better for arch support, knees, ankles (and for me, heels b/c I have plantar fasciitis)

Nike/Adidas/Puma are not great for support.

Asics/Brooks/New Balance (are often more $$) but are much better for feet. I swear by my asics.

My podiatrist says the same thing.

I used to wear NB, but right now I have been wearing Asics and Brooks. I have tried Nike in the past, but it felt like I was walking on cardboard. I bought inserts which helped. But when you are paying big $$$ for sneakers, they should feel great right out of the box :dancer:

This! I swear by Asics - I have flat, narrow feet and they give the best support - I think.

Sketchers are cute - I even have a pair of GoWalks that are very soft and comfortable. But as far as support? Forget it - from any pair of Sketchers I've had. After a few hours my feet, shins and knees and ankles are killing me.

I bought a pair of Tevaspheres for my upcoming trip. Plenty of arch support, and they keep pressure off my heel ( I have PF too).
First show in years I have bought that does not make my feet hurt.
Ironically, FitFlops are the best shoe for my feet at Disney. They give the right amount of support with a soft (but not too soft) footbed.
Orthoheels had been recommended to me as well, but while I felt the support was there, the footbed is too hard.

For my very troubled feed I swear by Clarks Wave...I pretty much only wear Clarks for casual and dress, but for serious walking the Wave shoes are perfect for me. Of course, everyone is different. Good luck!

I wore Brooks on my trip over the summer & didn't have a problem. I have flat feet & in the past (wearing New Balance) my feet were hot & achy every day. This trip the mesh helped keep them cool & they were very comfortable. I also bought these Danskin socks which were great too.
