Best shirts to use for iron-on designs?

Does anyone order their shirts online or do you have a favorite store to buy from? I'd like to get some sturdier shirts so that they can be worn after the trip too. Any suggestions?!!:thumbsup2

some love jiffyshirts.com
I liked shirtsupplier.com better than jiffyshirts (ordered from both; shirtsupplier had better return policy and I didn't have any shirts with pin holes in them like from jiffy but that's only been my experience)
I've also used
Wal-mart
Dollar Tree
Michael's

where-ever I can find the best deal for what I'm looking for. I made more than 70 shirts so far. If you order online, just make sure you know what 5.6 oz. feels like; I was thinking it would be the same as a tee I'd buy in the store but it's actually a little thinner - which was good for a May trip to WDW.

I'm still wearing mine since our trip in May (2x/mo. x 5 months = washed AT LEAST 10x so far).

Thanks for that suggestion, someone just told me about jiffyshirts.com but hadn't heard of shirtsupplier! I appreciate it! :)

Hi Angela! I'm in TN too. I just bought some 50/50 shirts at Hobby Lobby. $2.99 for kids sizes, $3.99 for adults. They turned out great after the iron-on was applied, but I haven't washed them in vinegar yet. I'm really hoping they don't crack on me. I'll let you know after I wash them.

Ok, so here's the verdict. It's not the shirts. It's the iron-on transfers. I used Avery (though I don't think it's the brand that's causing them to crack). Over the last couple of days I've done light transfers and dark transfers on 50/50 and 100% cotton. The deciding factor was the transfers. The dark transfers didn't even think about cracking and the colors are vivid. The light transfers are a bit duller and have a few mild cracks here and there, both on the 50/50 and the 100%. A different brand may turn out differently. Of course it might be different if I hold my mouth a different way too! HA!

ETA: And I'm officially sad now. The report above was after the shirts had been washed. Now after drying them (on low heat and delicate with towels like I'm supposed to), all of the light transfers are cracked pretty bad. But the kicker is that the worst one of them (REALLY BAD) is the one that is 100% cotton. :confused3 Oh the tragedy of it all. Mickey...take me away!

Amy,

That stinks about the transfers cracking. I just ordered transfers from another Amy on the board and she says they are the best she's used (the thread is here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1928845) so I'm hoping those will prevent cracks. In the past I've done very few iron-ons because of the cracking and how stiff it feels, so I'll post once I use the new transfers. :)
