Best server/asst. server on Magic

We will be sailing on the Magic through the Panama Canal in May. AND we just got off the Wonder on Sunday (4/6)--voyage #10 with DCL. I asked our server/asst.server if they had a recommendation for the best server on the Magic. Do any of you that have just gotten off the Magic have a recommendation for us of the best server/asst. server team? If you are sailing on the Wonder soon, ask for Xenia & Lorraine--they were a GREAT team!

The problem with recommending a server/team is that what is great to one family might not be to you. "Best" is such a subjective thing. We've had great luck going with whomever DCL assigns us to and have never been disappointed. We'll be going through the PC in August and this is the first time we've requested a server (from our last cruise). We have only requested him because we have had personal experience with him. I'd hesitate to request someone based solely on another cruiser's experience, but that's just me.

Let me tell you something about our server and why he was special. You would need to decide for yourself. The assistant server was fine but not over the top. We had Josue as server. There were two 10 year old girls at our table. My dd and another. Each night he would challenge them (and us) with a puzzle. In addition, it was always service with as smile. Both the server and the assistant Erwin were attentive to our needs.

as for myself i was on the magic in Jan of 2007 and my server was MO and our assistant server was Angelina. BOTH were WONDERFUL!!! i had a 2 year told daugther and they catered to her and us wonderfully!!!

We had Korena in Palo's on our last Magic June 2007. She was great. We had Sammy as our server, & Walter as the assistant. They were a great team.

We had Tony in December! He was fantastic! We did back-to-backs and had him as our server for brunch and dinner both weeks. He was getting ready to go on break and wasn't sure if he was going to sign a new contract so, unfortunately, he may not be there any more.

We also had Sylvester for tea both weeks and he was equally fantastic!

I agree it's all subjective. We had Ronald and Andrea (and Fabio at Palo). We thought they were fantastic and both very attentive to the kids at our table. However, I did notice that one of the other tables near us wasn't very interactive with them. I'm not saying anything negative on either side, I just think it depends on any given group at any given table as to how well they and the serving team click or interact with eachother, just like at any regular restaurant you'd go to.

Our sever Roselli (South Africa - table 31) had marachinno cherries waiting for my DD4....and every night he wrapped my DS9's elbows and chest in napkins so he wouldn't accidentally dip his arms in sauce or drop anything on his shirt!

We have had Tony twice in 2006 and he was great. Was off the ship in 2007 when we went to the Med.

Loved Ivo from Croatia and Amy from Scotland (asst server). They were fantastic. We loved Noemi in Palo-she was our regular server on our March 06 Magic cruise and had moved up to Palo. I do agree with those who said that they might not request a serving team based on another cruiser's experience. Everyone is different and clicks differently with people.

Please don't go in with too high expectations.

We had a not so great experience 4 years ago on the magic. Don't remember the names of our team, but the servers were nice, polite we got our food fine. But compared with some of the other servers who did tricks, and almost performed they didn't measure up in that way. We simply dined and left each night. After reading these boards for months, I was expecting more honestly and was a bit let down.
The problem was with the head person, we shared a table with another family with one child, (our DD was 6 at the time), but she (the head person) absolutely fawned over this little girl and really didn't pay much attention to our daughter, and belive me kids know when they aren't getting the same attention as others. Now I am sure that family thought they had the greatest team ever, as the other servers followed the lead of the head person.

We are taking a 3 day, and I really don't have too high expectations, if we get a great team, outstanding, but if we don't oh well.

The differences in everyone's expereinces are to great to really count on that special server team to make your cruise magical.
