Best "secret" place to watch MK fireworks

We watched from Crystal Palace one night. Also rode the Magic Carpets one time while they were going on. I've learned that being right in front of the castle doesn't really matter so much. :)

During our visit in October we watched in Tomorrowland, just up from Buzz and Monsters Inc Laugh Floor. There were lots of people watching at this spot. I wouldn't say it was prime viewing but it was pretty good and not as crowded as front and center on Main Street.

With the projections on the castle in the new fireworks show, being in front of the castle is more important than it used to be.

Fake grassy area in front of Casey's. People tend to think it's special access as it used to be a FP area and sort of feels fenced off, but it's not. That's where I try to go if I can.
We watched from the former FP area in front of Casey's twice last month, and it fills much slower than I expected it to. I think you're right about people thinking it's not open to all. It would be a good spot for the little ones.

We almost went in that area last night but it had a sign up saying reserved. So, we can ignore the sign and go on in? That would be great because it had plenty of spots about 30 minutes before. We are going again tomorrow night.

Yeah, if I'm not mistaken the old FP/reserved viewing area sign on the pole is still there but it's not applicable. The garden viewing area on the east side in front of The Plaza Restaurant IS reserved for a dessert party. The west side in front of Casey's is 'usually' open except for isolated special/VIP events.

Thanks for the replies! We found a great spot, turn left after getting out of Monsters, Inc like you're headed into Tomorrowland Terrace. They have a section roped off for the dessert party, we lined up (10 minutes before fireworks) right at that rope & had a great view. No one from the party came out onto the patio, they all stayed inside. And tinkerbell "landed" right above us. Great spot!

There is an area just at the point of exit for BTMR. The fireworks are actually launched from back there and the view is outstanding.
There is even a spot with two rocking chairs and a checkers board with a covered roof just across from Tom Sawyer Island, if you are there at the right time you can snag it.

The 5th floor walkway between the Contemporary and Bay Lake Tower is good. We also like right by the carousel in Fantasyland.

On one of the nights we were there, there was a portion of the area that was roped off -- they were filming something there. So, they can temporarily close parts of it randomly, but it's typically open to everyone.

I enjoy watching right behind the Liberty Belle dock on the Rivers of America walkway. Got some really good shots of the fireworks from there an there were no crowds.

I watched from Tomorrowland one evening last month. We sat on the stone benches under Astro Orbiter.

What about the upstairs train station at the entrance to MK? Is that still a VIP area, or can anyone sit there? Would you be able to view the castle projections from there?

It's really hard to stake out beforehand

I know that this is not ideal with the castle projections now but our best experience with Wishes was last year when we had 3 days at MK and didn't plan to do wishes one night. We just happened to be walking through Fantasyland behind the castle. We watched them right next to the carousel. It was definitely a non-traditional spot but they happened all around us as some were set off behind and some from the castle itself. There was no wait at all and we had tons of space. As a bonus we had a CM that was playing "air-traffic controller" and pointing to the location of each launch.

It was definitely a non-traditional way to see the fireworks but as a change of pace it was a great experience.
