Best seating for holiday parade

We’ll be there December 28-January 3 and usually do the Holiday Tour with the great viewing seats. But since they no longer include front of the line for HM and IASW, we really don’t want to spend $109/person just for parade seats. Plaza Inn is all booked plus we aren’t fans of the menu (come on Disney, how do you not have fried chicken from Plaza Inn?!? )
So where would you suggest the three of us find the best spot to not be super crowded to view? I was thinking down by Small World. Thoughts?

FWIW, several have reported having no problem swapping to fried chicken when they pick up their meals on the package.

Small World will definitely be a better bet. Although sitting along Main Street with the garlands is pretty darn magical.
