We are going to WDW in May with another family. We are all interested in eating at a seafood restaurant one night, but do not know which to choose. The choices we had in mind are:
Coral Reef
Flying Fish
Fultons Crab House

Which would you choose? We are staying in the park, but we are renting a van, so anything goes. Any advise?

Flying Fish by far. I am a fresh seafood person, I live here in FL so we get it fresh. So comparing FF to FCH is like comparing fresh food to frozen. FRESH is always much better. As for CR its great if you have the money and want some fine dinning, but we have eaten there twice now and I have left hungry both times. And out allot of money.

So Flying Fish would by my choice by far.

Flying Fish is the best one of your 3 choices but can be pricey. We love it but DS (13) does not really enjoy it. His favorite place for seafood is Cape May Clam Bake. He also enjoyed Coral Reef but mostly for the atmosphere and not the seafood.

For a family outing I love Coral Reef. The kids love seeing the fish, many of the entrees are very good, the chocolate wave is worth a trip all by itself. Flying Fish gets great reviews, but depending on the patience level of the kids it may not be for them. I was not impressed at all with Fulton's when we went, and again, may be too slow for kids tastes.

I checked out all the menus on allearsnet and the Coral Reef menu seems very limited. Does anyone know if this is the case?

Flying Fish also has a hidden Mickey game for kids. They have clues (I think it is on the kids menu?) and the kids can go around the restaurant looking for the hidden Mickeys.

We thought the service was pretty fast after we ordered and you can also watch the chefs cook. The cooking area is behind the bar, along one side of the restaurant. Kind of interesting if your kids are into that sort of thing.

With kids are would DEFINITELY recommend Cape May Cafe for seafood. They have a great buffet table for the kids. :smooth:

On property, we like Cape May Cafe. Off property, there is a Red Lobster at Cross Roads and just dow the street a bit from there is a Breezes. Off of I-drive is Fish Bones. The stuffed shrimp at Fish Bones is excellent. Fish Bones is pricey and requires reservations.

I would have to say Cape May is the most kid friendly, but I've never been that impressed with the seafood. It's good, but if you want a "seafood restaurant" I would suggest Coral Reef for the kids. If you were to have an adult night out. . .Flying Fish would be a great choice!

It's not on your list but I would pick Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian. Great food and magical setting! :boat:

You really can't beat the Coral Reef for 'neato' factor. They have info about all the fish in the tank, so you can try and figure out what's what. And watching the divers is a hoot!

We didn't find the menu to be that limited.
