Artist Point. We lived in Alaska for four years, so we had some of the best salmon anywhere during that time. The cedar plank salmon at AP compares very favorably to some of the best we ever ate. In fact, depending on when you go, they actually serve wild Alaskan salmon (if in season), the best of those being the Copper River salmon which are prized for their taste. The cost of the cedar plank salmon usually goes up when it's Copper River caught, though. The most natural pairing with the salmon is a top pinot noir, and AP has some wonderful Oregon pinots. Their servers are well-versed with the wine list at AP, so they can suggest a good wine if you need. Bon apetit!
P.S. My favorite at AP is actually the buffalo, but that's another post. . .
I have to agree with AP. I don't even like salmon that much, and am very reluctant to try it when we go out. But the salmon here was incredible! I'm actually a little disappointed it's not on our list for our next trip, just because I'd love to have the salmon again.
Actually, the best Salmon we had while down there last time was Chef Mickey's. They must have accidently switched the stuff going to the Ca Grill with it. HEHE.
I am probably the only person who eats salmon at the 50's Prime Time. They changed it a little last June but it was still excellent. Have it every trip. I also had salmon at (I hope I am right) Rose and Crown and it was also very good.
Also had a LOT of salmon at Hollywood and Vine because I couldn't find much else at the buffet that I liked. Not as good as the others, but not bad.
