Best route to drive down.

We didn't have a problem sleeping in the seats (they reclined quite nicely if I remember....) but we were already looking at almost to days to get as far as Washington DC anyway (Lorton is just outside of DC) but we also figure it saved us $200.00 in hotels, $120.00 in meals, $200.00 in gas and we didn't lose a day in Disney (because we weren't tired when we got there and we had until 1:00 or so the day we left to do Downtown Disney, last minute shopping, etc). We don't like to drive much at night (guess we're too used to living in moose country).
That having been said - trains are very expensive everywhere - we were looking at taking VIA rail from Moncton to Vancouver and return just to see the country and the price we were quoted for the two of us was about $5000.00 and it would take 5 days each way :rotfl: I could go to Disney for two weeks and stay at a moderate for that!!!!

oh i know - we wanted to take the train 2 times to quebec city once for our honey moon and once with dd when she was a baby. it would have cost less to stay at the hilton or chateau and fly over then take the train.

insane

Not sure where you live, but we found that it was cheaper this time to actually travel to Maine and get a flight...the cost was actually $500/ticket less on Delta than Air Canada from our home town....and with 3 of us, that's $1500.00 - (we got our return air fare with all taxes and travel agent fees for $262 CDN each). Even when we factor in the cost of driving the 3 hours to the airport in the US and a hotel the night before, we figure we're saving $1200....you may want to look into that option - I don't think you could even drive from ON to WDW for $262 each when hotels, meals, gas and time spent is considered....maybe flights from Detroit are even less as it is a larger airport....then rent a car (just another option to think about).
