For the first time in about 3 years, we are driving to WDW. Our reservation starts on Sunday, August 6th at Pop Century. We've decided to break up the drive, driving to Jacksonville (probably Orange Park) on Saturday, then getting up early to finish the drive on Sunday so we can get there early enough to head to the Magic Kingdom (I know, don't do MK on a Sunday...).
I've got a triptik from AAA that routes us through Orange Park, down I95 to I4. But in it, there are a couple of maps that show that 17 goes southish from Orange Park to hit I4 in DeLand. It looks about the same distance/time, but more scenic. I kind of like this idea, as we'll have been on the highway for all of the previous day.
Is this an okay drive? Is it significantly longer than taking the highway? What is the best way to get to WDW from the south side of Jacksonville?
