We upgraded to a savannah room in 2005 on our honeymoon. It was perfect, you'll love it. The animals tend to be more active and closer to the building at night...not sure why. When we would get back to our room from the parks very late at night, we would always have giraffe hanging out close to our balcony. The only downside (on our trip anyway) was that our room was A LONG way from the lobby- made for alot more walking when your feet were tired from being at the parks all day. Also made for a little aggravation if you forget something in your room and have to walk back. AKL is pretty darn large and sprawling. I think our room was on the very end of one of the wings.
