Any recommendations for a November trip to VWL for room reqests?
First time at the resort.

What do you want? What would you like, need additional info to make a great recommendation.

Since Boulder Ridge is the older resort the views on the bus side will still be the same, trees. The water side should have some water views, from the construction pictures I've seen. There are some interesting shaped 2bd units near the elevators we ended up with because I asked for 'close to elevators.' When we go back I will be asking for close to elevators, water side. They have long hallways.

We had a 1 BR a couple of years ago right next to the elevator. We heard it going up and down at all hours. Since then I'm always afraid to request that even though it's more convenient.

VWL is a very small resort. So even if you are the farthest villa from the elevators it is a short walk, especially compared to most other DVC resorts. As @Donna M indicated, one one side of the resort are mostly trees and a very serene setting. On the other side of the resort is the lake view but also the pool. Not knowing what you are looking for, the kind of group you will have (young children, no children, etc), makes it hard to provide a recommendation.

We just stayed there and although we were in the room second from the end it is not that long of a walk. I would say it is half the distance of BWV to the standard view rooms. The thing I got confused by was that we had trouble finding stairs that exited into the lobby. Many of the stairs exited outside and with the construction going on that didn't work.

We were just there in February and requested a room on the ground floor facing away from the construction. Of course the construction will be over soon. Not everyone agrees with this, but we like to be on the ground floor so we just walk to our room and don't have to take an elevator. We also had a porch outside rather than a balcony. The porches are generally larger than the balconies.
